Help me understand that a bit more lol. Yes the gil is simply transferred, but technically I would be carrying, (let's say materia) valued at that amount. I lose it in attempt to forbidden materia and then that item is gone from existence and that value is gone from the economy for good. This is sincere Thev lol.

there is 100mil gil in the economy

you have 10mil, other players have 90mil

you buy 10 materias for 10mil gil total

10mil gil is NOT removed from the economy, only transfered to other players(minus the 5% tax on their sales, so lets say 500k was removed)


so you may value your materia at a certain ammount, but your materia is not actual gil

the other players do however have your gil minus that tax

so by spending 10mil gil, you lost 10mil, but only 500k was actualy removed from the economy
