Only thing Yoshi P has ever said is don't do it for an " exorbitant " amount of gil, which is as gray area as it gets, as that is purely relative. Like NotOliverB says, SE has never cared about what 2 happy custmers work out between themselves, speaking from numerous experiences from me, relatives, friends, and FC mates. Also Hamada : you don't get to decide what is " having a negative impact on the communtiy ". This a a public forum, and what you think doesn't reflect the whole userbase, and you're not a moderator so....... also, it is not against ToS to sell houses, no where does it say that in the ToS. GM's have commented on it not being against the ToS and so has Yoshi P, I reiterate : only thing Yoshi has said is not for an exorbitant amount of gil. For some that would be 10 mil, some it would be 50 mil, some 100, and some no amount would seem exorbitant.

99% sure they are enjoying every moment of people telling them how awful and selfish they are, or else they would not be here nearly 30 pages in. I almost feel bad for someone who's so deprived of attention and is so ill that they have to resort to baiting replies on a video game forum to feel something. Not to mention all the time they spend maintaining those houses and idling in Limsa all day to spam /shout. He's always there with both characters under the tree whenever I go to buy stuff or turn in quests.
At this point people are arguing with someone who has invested an unhealthily large part of their self-worth and identity in the game. There are no winners, only losers.
Why does everyone just assume Oliver's goal is to be " awful and selfish ". This thread wasn't started by them, all they did was publicly come out and say " hey this was me, ask me anything " in reply to what was pretty much a witchunt from the start. They haven't broken any rules, and everyone is trying to turn this into moral issue. You guys realize we are playing A GAME??? Would you get pissed at someone playing monopoly who got the " Advance to Boardwalk " chance card? Oliver is playing the game the way he/she wants to. No rules have been broken, he just has capitalized on what is a sensitive issue because 99% of the playerbase thinks SE should give them a house. If anything, Oliver has shwon how easy it is to get a house, which is in fact alot easier than whining on the forums about not having one.99% sure they are enjoying every moment of people telling them how awful and selfish they are, or else they would not be here nearly 30 pages in. " Unhealthily amount of self worth"???? So who's to say the way you play the game isn't unhealthy or bloated with self worth. That is the most narcissistic and ignorant comment in awhile. There are a million ways to play this game besides " your " way. That's like saying he logged in wrong, just plain close minded. Seems like the more bitter people are from Oliver's server, Gilgamesh, another clue implying this is a witchhunt based out of nothing but jealosuy and low effort in the game to get what they think should just be handed to them.

Making it easier to have your fairly acquired house stolen from you by the game is a great way of making housing less fun and more disappointing. The answer to the housing shortage is to simply keep improving on the volume of housing when possible, while hopefully eventually finding a way to let the housing wards expand as much as needed to meet the needs of all prospective buyers.
Likewise, I'm not interested in individual housing instances. The neighborhood feeling of FFXIV's housing is one of the great aspects of it.
There isnt a housing shortage. Most servers have tons of plots available. Houses have been increased from a few hundred now to about 4500 currently. The housing problem has been over since 4.3, the problem is the playerbase now. Totaly agree with you about instanced housing along with community involvement, however.Making it easier to have your fairly acquired house stolen from you by the game is a great way of making housing less fun and more disappointing. Question though : how was your " fairly boughten house " " stolen from the game" the only way to lose your house from the game is by not entering it within 45 days, which i sclearly documented in the games documentation for owning houses etc. This isn't the games fault, but whoever owns the house. If you lose it via auto demo, obviosuly you didnt care about it in the first place.
LOL whatever happened to things like this being viewed as a cleaver use of game mechanics. Now it is exploit this exploit that. What the OP did was a smart work around to the limitations, they did something clearly SE did not expect and 100% should not be punished for it.
Ah, someone I know. This thread was about me so why shouldn't I check it during my free time? Someone who's in a similar situation as mine already went over the topic of how much time is actually needed to maintain a large amount of FCs. I suggest you go back and read. Dunno how being afk in a video game is a time commitment, but ok...99% sure they are enjoying every moment of people telling them how awful and selfish they are, or else they would not be here nearly 30 pages in. You're assuming I care about this game way too much, but honestly I don't. I'm so bored with XIV that I ended up with all these houses. Take them all away and I'll either move on to something else or do it all over again. I honestly don't care.
He doesn't need your help to defend himself, clearly. Why does everyone just assume Oliver's goal is to be " awful and selfish ". What he's doing is exploiting a loop hole and being a troll on the forums when people call him out on it. Even if it's not technically breaking the rules it's definitely against the spirit of them, and he's basically waiving it in people's faces because it gets him a lot of angry replies. Are you really going to say he's innocent and doesn't deserve to be called the pathetic and selfish person he is? He's playing how he wants to at the detriment of other people and he's probably tickled pink that there are people like you who say it's not breaking a rule outright so people aren't allowed to be mad or upset. I don't know what it's like on Sargatanas but there is still a housing shortage on Gilgamesh. He's actually denying people the functionality and perks of owning a house just because he likes to play landlord.
Yes, the ideal solution would be for SE to provide everyone with a house. That would be great. But until that day comes it's not unreasonable to ask people to restrain themselves to one FC and one personal house.
