....You really shouldn't make blanket statements or assumptions about what other people from another race would want whether you're part of that race or not. Not everyone needs their character to perfectly look like them inside of a video game. It's a video game....the races inside XIV do not have to look like or even represent the races found within our daily lives.
In my experience most black males I've come across in mmos usually have a caucasian female character.
Global usually means "safe" and so...yeah... The only way to actually fix this issue is to have sliders which just isn't going to happen here sadly. :<
It may shock you, but not everybody is interested in designing a character that looks like they do. FFXIV is already a very diverse game. It seems like you only want to count 'visible' diversity, though...
It's also an MMO currently caught up in controversy over a developer getting fired in large part due to her obsession with identity politics. So that might not be the best example to use.![]()

She got mostly fired because she - very basicly said - that feedback does not matter to her [and thus ArenaNet].
Please do not suck up the garbage the gaming "press" is spreading.
It's all rather bizarre if I'm honest. I saw what the person in question did as it was happening and it was wholly unprofessional. I understand completely why she was fired. Seeing all these articles defending her is really quite confusing.

Eeew, I already look like me IRL, why would I want to look like me in a fantasy game? I play fantasy games to get away from mundane reality.
(Alas, adorable Miqo'te are not to be found on Earth. ._. )
