I can't believe that the OP is still arguing about this.
And it'll probably still be here when I return from work around 4pm.

Everyone who makes everything about race has a race problem...

I was in line with the suggestion until I read "Roes are not human". Oooookay buddy...
Plenty of games manage just fine to add more ethnic looking faces into the mix. GW2, which is another game that relies heavily on "pre-set" faces, does a far better job with this. They've always had the standard Caucasian/Asian face options, and they've recently added a bunch of black/African faces and hairstyles which are quite nice.
XIV's creator is insanely limited, so I'm doubting they will ever add more ethnic looking options, but I can appreciate why people would like to have the option.
I think as far as the females go, Au Ra probably have the most diversity as far as the types of ethnic looks they can pull off with different facial features and skin tone.
It would've been nice if all of the races/genders had faces as varied as they do (Even male Au Ra feel pretty indistinct in this regard largely because of their eye shapes being very similar between their faces, save for the extremely unpopular "sad" face) because some of the original race/gender combos really suffer from same face syndrome.

I think that's because Au Ra came much later so they had more flexibility with their design while all the other races were just ported over from 1.0I think as far as the females go, Au Ra probably have the most diversity as far as the types of ethnic looks they can pull off with different facial features and skin tone.

Like the Big butt thing this isn't Earth stop projecting Earthly qualities on the charaters. Ya they come close but it doesn't make it earth.
There are no Elveens, Au Ra, Miqo'te IRL...
As for more customizations they have said they aren't changing it.
I don't get why people seem to relish the the fact that customization is so limited in this game. I personally have been able to make characters I like, so I'm content enough, but many other games blow XIV out of the water with the characters you can create.
But yeah, I am always surprised by the amount of push-back that occurs from the players when people suggest expanding options. Boggles the mind.

I don't think people on here are against more options for character creation, but as it is we have to make do with what we've got. And why do people keep bringing up other game's creation modes? This is Final Fantasy XIV, not the other games.I don't get why people seem to relish the the fact that customization is so limited in this game. It never hurts to keep an eye on your competition and maybe even get inspiration from them. Improving on a game is always possible, and there are many, MANY things that other games handle in a superior way.
