Have you tried them in the actual game? Skin colors look off in the creator as is.
I get what you mean but honestly, your thread would been much more received if you simply titled it "can we have more customization options" Then in the post explain why you can't get what you have visioned. I really do not think a RL race war comparison is fair with this.
I would have thought someone so concerned with diversity being represented in-game would choose to play something other than a pink haired miqo'te female.
And Au Ra are kind of like Hyurs just with different body features, height/frame composition, and scales. I see where you're getting at, but this isn't the Sims unfortunately. Character Creation doesn't have a race problem, it just has a customization problem where everything feels so limited.
Alright, so you said you wanted to make a female Midlander Hyur that looks like a black person. I'm all for more options, but lore-wise Hyurs just aren't supposed to look like real world black people. Their aesthetics are mostly based on Europeans. Yes, there are a few black Hyur NPCs, but maybe they are supposed to be half Highlander or something like that? You also have to see it from an in-game lore perspective. For example, Highlanders (yes, you wanted to make a Midlander, I've read that) are the ones that have more options to make them look like black people and there are many black NPCs in Gyr Abania.
It's the same if you wanted to make an East Asian looking character. Au Ra just look a little Asian or at least anime-like no matter what you do, even if you wanted to make them white. But other than that, it's not so easy to make a really Asian looking character with most races. You can see that with the Doman and Hingan NPCs. Most of them just look white. There are some features for Hyur that are a little bit more Asian, but at the same time there are also the features that make them look a little more black.
So, actually, lore-wise, it would even make more sense to first give Midlanders more Asian features than black features, because Midlanders live in an Asia inspired region of the in-game world. At the same time it would make more sense to give Highlanders more black features and maybe even Sunseeker Miqo'te because there seem to be many that have dark skin.
You maybe can't make a black Hyur girl that looks truly black, but you can with Highlanders and Roegadyn for example. You also can't make Asian Highlanders, but you can make Asian Au Ra. There are multiple races in FFXIV. You can't make every real world "race" with every of them, but there are some that work for that and some that don't. I think it's even better this way. Because why in the world should every in-game race be able to look white, black, Asian or whatever? The way it is it shows how the races come from different regions and different genetic backgrounds. Lore and immersion > real-life representation.
