I'd like to have a server merge or an option to change server![]()
Well...you have the option to Re-Roll on a more populated server but I am guessing you don't want to lose your Levels.
I seriously doubt SE is gonna close down and merge servers though, so a more pertinent question would be, "Can we get a World Transfer Service after billing starts?"
If I were in charge my answer would be, "Yes, once billing commences we will offer a one-time World Transfer Service...for a Fee of $9.99".
Papa was a rolling stone...wherever he laid his barbut was home.
world transfer service is worse imo, cause it could mess servers up more. the idea of merger is to take a high populated server and just shove a low populated server on it. a server transfer would result in not everyone being able to afford it or wanna pay and having then even more dead servers and the possibility of everyone transferring to the same server and it being really overcrowded there.Well...you have the option to Re-Roll on a more populated server but I am guessing you don't want to lose your Levels.

Um, they could easily give us the ability to move servers on our own without shutting down any of the current servers. SOlves both problems.
there aren't gonna be enough people to populate all the servers which is why the merger was suggested. Allowing players to switch servers at will will never be a god idea.(i favor se managed server merge)

well i think letting people shift to the more populated servers and then closing down the smaller ones (until 2.0) just makes sense. The pop for this game is already not huge...and it will only go down when charging commences.
not doing something like this will only lower the low end servers when billing starts, making even more people quit because their server is dead. Seems too obvious to ignore.

If they want to merge the smaller servers together fine, but leave the full servers alone. I think our server is at a good place, and we still have people coming over... I don't want another 1000+ people thrown onto that... I already see people camping and killing everywhere I go.
But I don't think they will do it seeing that they are going to redo everything with 2.0, it would probably take a month or two to get it all set up, then figure out price (because I am sure they would charge, it was 25$ in FFXI to transfer servers back when I played. I don't know if the price is still the same...) which means they MIGHT be able to give the option of merge in late winter/spring? 5-6 months after that they are redoing everything with 2.0... yeah I don't know if I see a server merger before hand.
I'm just a bun boy, doing bun boy things.
/sarcasm on
I don't care if there's a server merge. It'll kill my SSO (Small Sparce Online) gaming experience?
/sarcasm off.
It is a good idea. Transfers are also a good idea.
I can't wait until they add /sea , so we can /sea all and notice that there are only 150 people on Bodhum server.
Really need a server merge. At least for the low population servers. No one to party with, no one to buy my stuff, no one to sell my stuff to; a server merge would be very welcome.
