Their existance is not really a problem, but how they were implemented is. Duty recorder could've been very good for analyzing fights, but for reasons they only know it's bogged down by stupid restrictions. as for Bard performance, well I don't have it unlocked I only know that 4.2 ruined the sounds till 4.3, but ehi some ppl don't have barbershop unlocked either I don't think they are asking why SE wasted time on that either.

So long that additions to the game are made well I don't really see a problem with their existance.

I've come across plenty of people who think the devs are wasting resources developing systems like perform. It wouldn't be an issue if we were getting content with longevity.... but our devs seem to think continually making new content with a lifespan of 3 months is a good idea. They continually say they are under staffed, yet they choose an inefficient method of content creation.

Let's be fair here. The people who design and implement battle content are not the same people who designed and implemented perform, lord of vermillion, so the glamour stuff.

Their battle content team is severely understaffed. That is the issue they have, they are having trouble finding people to fill that team specifically.

You don't think those people could have been tasked to create better content? There is too much fluf in this game.... and we keep getting more.

There are a lot of people who like perform. Just because you don't doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.

What content do you want? Do you do all of savage and the extremes?

I think having content that keeps people playing is more important.

Do you mean content that's fun or content that forces people to play to stay caught up.
Content that keeps people playing could mean low drop rates and rng.

Have to be careful with what you ask for . And fun is subjective. I enjoyed Eureka. I also thought the original diadem wasn't that bad, they just needed to tweak it a bit

I think people also misunderstand the fate system, but that ship has long sailed.

Welcome to DisneySquareEnixLand, On your left is the one of the children's attractions the staged show, on your right is the dress-up-glamour Fashion Report, further down the road we have the haunted Palace of the Dead, and around the corner we have the roller coaster raids. Then there is our main attraction the "It's a Small Overworld"

The point is that there is no harm to adding more attractions to the game. You are not required to play all of them, just like you're not required to go on the Pirates of the Carribbean ride and Space Mountain. Disneyland also retires rides after they wane in popularity or wear out.

To me it just seems like the attractions are being added at the detriment to the core game.

From a purely technical point of view, there is no detriment in compartmentalized gameplay, eg the theme park.

It's when that stretches into horizontal progression (eg "I'm done with MSQ, time to grind Eureka for another month per job") you might wonder why Eureka's low level monsters have a quarter million HP that you have to shave off 5k at a time, and deliver almost no experience. Like how is that even a remotely fair use of a players time. Compared to PotD where the monsters can be flattened in 2-3 hits. Which feels more fun?

I, simply do not enjoy how Eureka feels because relative to the rest of the game, it feels like this was designed as an abusive time-sink. Just like every relic weapon. Going by patterns established with the relic weapon quests, these are also going to be quickly obsolete by the 5.0, So just wait till 5.0 comes out when it becomes glamour fodder. At least "light" grind's have a point, that if you're doing roulettes for that level you should gradually get it. However the prerequisite steps to get there often involve large time sinks or gil sinks, and unless you got the materials when it was new, those materials are likely things you'll be farming, not buying off the marketboard, thus even more time sinks.

Like if anything is a detriment to the game, it's creating separate "savage" tiers of content at all that only 1-3% of the players play and unwilling to help others learn it. There needs to be some better incentive to get players to help, and not by making players pay for unsync clears. Like maybe don't even unlock the "expert/savage/ultimate" tier until 10-20% of the subscribed players sync-lock clear the previous tier.
