I recommend playing horizon zero dawn sometime, which also has the "kill big critters" theme but it much more story driven with a better world.

I like Monster Hunter because it's a video game in its purest form. I know it's hypocritical of me to say this as a FF fan with story driven gameplay but sometimes I just want to kick back and go straight into the action which is what I get from MH. I love the gitgud style of gameplay it has.

Wish I had the time to be bothered by this! Too much MSQ and too little time. Just like the Golden Saucer stuff going on *runs past* music changes, flashy lights *keeps running*.

Only played MH back on PSP, was ok. I can see it's changed a lot with the latest game though. Might be interesting but I have little connection to it.

Apparently, in a GameSpot interview with Yoshida, they are hinting at an EX version of the trial. Not sure if simply thinking about it or if actually happening. D: I hope it happens.

...And makes me think this is a permanent add-on. I can't see them going to the trouble of making a normal trial and an extreme trial and taking them out after a period of time.

That was wrong translation. Someone in that reddit thread corrected it and said that it wont be a short event but seemingly still limited in time.

It could be but its still different from being completely without a time limit and them saying that they talked with Capcom so that the event can run as long as possible, sounds that there is one. Just wanted to point out that this was wrongly translated. Not that people later will go around and say that he lied because they got the wrong information when the events ends.
