Eloah thats complete Rubbish... they are allready paying their employees so they might aswell ask them to help record when they are not doing something and even pay them a little extra if they are doing it outside of their time.
I wouldn't mind paying 1$ a month more. Cuss lets admit... if their hours were realy that expensive then why only charge what they are charging us now?.... Lets admit... large amounts of customers usualy cover expenses.
It's up to SE to make them feel like they are realy inside of a fantasy world and the only way of making it feel real is by using real voices

I think it's very clear that because this thread has traction that your point was not missed, but it's also clear that you aren't being realistic. SE like any company has a budget and must try use that budget to make efficiency. And as the game gains traction and popularity, they will continue to increase the budget, but with that increase it will go towards resources that will procure them more money, like advertisements, more developers, resources, etc.

But, I grow tired of this dance, so I think I will stop posting.

Oh and the next time someone says you missed their point, regardless of how they express it themselves, don't be rude in return. I simply said you missed the point of my statement, not that you should leave the thread, which comes across as juvenile.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

To be fair, I did find you rude first, so yes, lets stop dancing.

There is a LOT more work that would have to go into voice acting our characters for cutscenes then just having people come in and say the words.

The words don't exist to be said. We'd have to write the dialogue, for every cutscene, for each language, with some tweaks depending on the words you choose to say in quests.

We'd have to edit the cutscenes to match the length of the new dialogue, since right now, the scenes with our character speaking are too short to accommodate actual dialogue.

This is a lot of work. It is not nearly as simple as some of you are making it out to be. I wouldn't say no to it, but there's a lot of reasons why it probably will never be implemented.

Voice actors do not sit around at SE on the clock. They come in for a specified contract with a company, record, then move on to another company or project.

Are you even reading? Adding voice lines takes resources (time/money) that'd otherwise be spent on developing something else.

Again, what content (dungeons, raids, etc.) would you be willing to give up so you'd be able to hear your character talk in cutscenes?

Clearly as little as you are reading: P I'm pretty sure SE has the money needed to VA our char for a few major CSs throughout the entirety of the game. You seem to think SE is bordering on broke and that EVERYTHING will cost someones firstborn, their grandma and her teeth!

Who says it has to be one or the other? why cant it be both? And frankly I'd personally, just for me and my gameplay give up PVP in a heartbeat for that.

So you're absolutely clueless about game development. I never said SE is bordering on broke, but it's still a company. Companies care about profit, and having to spend more on development cuts into that profit.
Then again, money was half the resources I mentioned, since I also mentioned time (as in, the time it takes to develop something).

Read Elamys' post, you can't just invite some voice actors over to create lines, and then just drop them into the game. This dialogue has to be written from scratch, fitted into the cutscene, translated to multiple languages, and the voice acting has to be changed to fit with every voice of every race.

To put the last into perspective, each race has 12 male and 12 female voices, at a total of 144 voices (midlanders and highlanders each having their own set), although there's some overlap in voices, so let's say 120 unique voices. These would all have to be voiced in Japanese, English, French and German. Since each patch has some cutscenes with voice acting, that's something they'd have to do every 3.5 months.

yes, and taking ALL that into account, even so I still think SE can afford it. You still seem to think this is far too expensive. Your probably right, but i still dont care. This is a suggestion from me, as to what *I* would like added in the game instead of glamourplates, Eureka or anything else. I have answered and we are never gonna agree, so you might as well stop. I know I will after this post.

Oh I'm sorry, I did not realise you need to be an actress before you can use your voice...
