why do you defend this mechanic so hard? i am very curious..
i've tried the chart and i've tried what you told me, still not doin' it for me because i get into panic mode and can't process the info fast enough, by the time i've reached the conclusion its too late
Probably because it really is not that hard and even with solutions people complain. It is not that hard and even with tips people complain.
this is another thing that bothers me, when people say "its not that hard" or "its simple" because i simply cannot remember any of this or make sense of it so when i can't do something "easy" or "simple" it makes me feel useless or stupid, you understanding my frustration with this yet? and i seriously will not give up with making my point, so we could be at this argument right into the next expansion if you don't give up now
Did you try my Edit? Because you don't have to do ANY math whatsoever. None.
And I "defend" this mechanic because it is unique. I like unique mechanics, they keep the game nice and fresh. I get that some will struggle with certain mechanics, hey, give me something Zodiac-related and I will be scratching my head in confusion, or anything having to do with Music Notes.
unique is fine, infact i encourage unique, but i disapprove of mechanics like this heavily as i do not find this sort of mechanic remotely fine, any other mechanic in place of this would be 100 times better then this, heck i would take a savage mechanic over this.. but lets say they used a mechanic like the ones you mentioned, what if they used musical notes where we had to match a sound played to us to a note printed on the ground, how would that make you feel?Did you try my Edit? I would be looking for tricks like the chart I posted above, I'd look for some way to work around my inability to grasp musical notation and my inability to recognize tones. Or I would simply die and get carried lol.
Or who knows.... maybe after hearing these tones and associating them with the little symbols I could never understand before time after time after time.... maybe a lightbulb would go off in my head and I'd be like "WOW, so that's what a C Sharp that I keep hearing about, is!"
well if you feel confident enough i hope next raid introduces it now so you can feel the struggle too, or introduce something you won't be able to make sense of while everyone else tells you "its easy" "its simple" so you can feel like meI would be looking for tricks like the chart I posted above, I'd look for some way to work around my inability to grasp musical notation and my inability to recognize tones. On some more thought, I bet what I would likely do, is find a program that can make .midi files.
I would make a midi file that is simply each possible note played one after another on piano and I would memorize the order in which the notes were, like.... A B C D E F.
While my musical notation and tone understanding blows, my sound memory is actually rather good. I'd quickly alt-tab, play the midi file (I would have the midi player and file ready before the battle obviously), and just say "A, B, C, D, E, F" until the tone I hear coming from the MIDI matches the tone I heard in-game. "A, B, C, D.... okay that was a D." and I would likely have a musical note chart taped to my monitor so I know which one D is.
