So after a couple dungeons where wipes happened within the last couple weeks, I think I've been noticing something...

Usually when a wipe happens, it seems the first people who bail are the people who are performing the most poorly.

This seems to be a trend anytime you get rage-quitters and cowards in the group who abandon duty after a wipe or two.

Today was a good example. Castrum Fluminis (the newest Trial). Went in, and I noticed it was taking absolutely forever to get the boss into the 2nd phase, and we almost ran out of time in the 2nd phase, and it was taking forever to get through other phases and we'd wipe with her being at some 70%+ even though we fought and fought and fought.

We attempt it again and same thing, wipe at 70% or such. Then two people instantly leave the group and the tank let a bombshell drop: The PLD did 1.2k more DPS than either of the two DPS who bailed group. The two replacements entered and man, she was going down a LOT faster.

Now sadly, that group didn't make it, we ran out of time, so I went in with a half linkshell group, wiped once at like 15% but we tried again and got her the 2nd try.

But yeah, it seems like anytime you get rage-quitters, they are the people who are usually causing the wipes in the first place, or at least that's the trend I've been seeing last few times I've wiped in a duty.
