    Rage Quitters: An observation

So after a couple dungeons where wipes happened within the last couple weeks, I think I've been noticing something...

Usually when a wipe happens, it seems the first people who bail are the people who are performing the most poorly.

This seems to be a trend anytime you get rage-quitters and cowards in the group who abandon duty after a wipe or two.

Today was a good example. Castrum Fluminis (the newest Trial). Went in, and I noticed it was taking absolutely forever to get the boss into the 2nd phase, and we almost ran out of time in the 2nd phase, and it was taking forever to get through other phases and we'd wipe with her being at some 70%+ even though we fought and fought and fought.

We attempt it again and same thing, wipe at 70% or such. Then two people instantly leave the group and the tank let a bombshell drop: The PLD did 1.2k more DPS than either of the two DPS who bailed group. The two replacements entered and man, she was going down a LOT faster.

Now sadly, that group didn't make it, we ran out of time, so I went in with a half linkshell group, wiped once at like 15% but we tried again and got her the 2nd try.

But yeah, it seems like anytime you get rage-quitters, they are the people who are usually causing the wipes in the first place, or at least that's the trend I've been seeing last few times I've wiped in a duty.

People go in expecting to be carried, then get mad and quit when they realize the group can't do it. That's my view on what you just described.

they just heard it was easier than Byakko and just thought it wouldn't matter how they played and they would get a clear. This fight is about as easy as Lakshmi is or even the easiest trial this expansion.

I was just making an observation. Obviously if they are performing poorly and not learning the mechanics, then yes you want them to leave.

I would have to respectfully disagree there.

Yes, this newest Trial is easier than Shinryu (by loads), but yet I would not say it is easier than Lakshmi.

All of Deltascape and all of Sigmascape (non-Savage obviously) except Kefka I would rate as being easier than this one, and I'd say that this one is slightly harder than Byakko was.

So basically what I'm saying is I think it is tied for second-hardest with Kefka and Byakko coming in a close third. Byakko's stuff is easy to read, but yet his AoEs are just so freaking large sometimes you can't get out of them even if you sprint the moment you see it.

EDIT: I realize that Delta/Sigmascape are not really "Trials", but yet they are 8-man boss fights all the same so I felt that it was fair to compare them.

I think the majority of people forget that there’s are millions of people playing this game and that everyone is at a different skill level. I have rage quit when I have farmed an ext primal but I don’t want to waste time. Some people have higher learning curves and will take much longer than others to learn a fight. If you see this happening , ask if they’d like some advice. There are people with anxiety and other mental illnesses that may be the reason they are having trouble. Lend a hand if you can

The more people you help clear, the more people clear the more farm parties can form. Help some people before you kick

Problem is, a lot of these people don't even ask for help whatsoever. Sometimes, these very same people are the ones complaining about the wipes, but yet they're the lowest on the DPS meters and they are getting hit by every single mechanic (as was the case earlier).

Hey, I can understand getting hit by mechanics over and over again, but to Rage-Quit as though it's everybody else's fault? That's what I take issue with.

I wouldn't want these people in my farm parties tbh.
If they can't do it with an average level, that means that content isn't for them and they need to train on something easier before.
Helping isn't a problem. Being a burden and getting carried is.

Why jumping trough steps like that and blaming others for not being helpful while underperforming people should be the one questionning themselves.
That's okay to learn slowly with easier content first.

That makes sense but really, you can’t tell or force someone to NOT play something. If they want to play a fight that they aren’t ready for, well you’d hope they did everything they could to learn. But like I said before, what may be very trivial to you or me may be completely Greek to someone else. I feel your pain but trying to take a more positive and patient stand on it

our FC master would say it a lot when we happen to party in alliance raids with a poorly performing group--they're usually the first ones to quit. over the years I've encountered people like this who mostly quit at Ozma, Bismarck, and recently Hashmal after just 1 wipe XD basically, OP's observation is correct.
