Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

People want Viera from that bad Tactics game that we don't talk about. What strategy game punishes you for using Cure or some other nonsense? SE has been doing a good job pretending that game doesn't exist, cuz it don't.. (Can't believe that game ever got a sequel...)

Never played any tactics game. I learnt of Viera from XII when the original first came out. The current raids seem to influenced by "FFXII: Zodiac Braves" anyhow, not tactics, given the name drop by the NPCs. Also, how do these tactics games have ANY impact on XIV? I know Viera are from them, but...? Your comment makes no sense to me.

The current raid is a mash up of war of the Lions and FF12 with it merging bit of both.

the 24 man story is based primarily on Tactics, including Ramza and Alma being characters from the game. The Zodiac Brave Story and Durai Papers as mentioned in the recent story are from FFT, not FFXII. The bosses are from both, the locations are from both, such as Rabanastre is XII but Lesalia beneath is FFT. Ridorana is XII, Clockwork City of Goug beneath is FFT. The auracite is actually based on Tactics as well, though FFXII has Nethicite, which is somewhat similar. Most of the story is from Tactics, with the locations and politics of the region being from XII, as in FFXIV the events of FFXII were ~30 years ago.

Without trying to derail the thread too much, it really is an excellent game. It can be quite difficult because there is no way to grind levels, as all enemies scale with you and you can actually outpace your own gear if you aren't careful. And there are tons of theorycrafting pages across forums. My recommendation would be downloading PPSSPP (PSP Emulator) on either a tablet or Windows, grabbing the PSP version ISO, FFT: War of the Lions, and playing that one. Some voiced cutscenes and additional jobs/quests. But be prepared to sink 100+ hours into it if you aren't using cheats!
