To be fair, people wanted FFXIV to be a "Standard MMORPG" and standard MMORPGs replace content and loot every update or every other update so the blame doesn't fall to SE if this happens

It's the same strength, you make the choice - absolutely adorable moogle weapons OR Ifrit weapons. Also, content with no rewards is a good thing too, because they can be content you do just for fun.
