Wooo let's basically crap all over the content we've been doing the past two months! Love it!I know many of you are asking if the new weapons will make Moogle noises. A little chocobo told me that they will make a "Kupo" sound when you draw your weapon!
He also informed me that these weapons will be around the same strength as Ifrit weapons since many of you were asking this question as well.
Then don't get them <.<. a smart player would use their weapons that best fit the situation, if fire dmg is gonna help you more you know use those fire weps and if its not use the moogle ones >.>. Also sounds like you just want content with no rewards
It sounds more like I want content that lasts more than 8 weeks before its replaced
Unfortunately there are no gear swaps in FFXIV or this would be ok. With the limiting inventory as is you're saying you want me to carry around weapons/tools for all 19 claasses plus extras for certain situations? That's about 25 inventory slots right there, 25% of my inventory. This doesn't include armor for each specific class as well as DM, inferno tapers, misc materials for spirit bond gear...
I didn't tell you to carry all your weps with just when you need them for certain situations. I use Acc weps for solo cause i end up fighting mobs 5 lvls higher than me cause i'm gonna be missing w/o the party buff...Unfortunately there are no gear swaps in FFXIV or this would be ok. Yay for blowing things out of proportion to support your argument! I mean it's not like we have any kind of additional storage accessible in cities....oh wait. Only carry what you need, don't be stupid. If you're going out to fight, chances are you're going to be playing your main class(es). No one expects you to carry all your crafting, gathering and combat gear for every single class all the time.Unfortunately there are no gear swaps in FFXIV or this would be ok. To be fair, people wanted FFXIV to be a "Standard MMORPG" and standard MMORPGs replace content and loot every update or every other update so the blame doesn't fall to SE if this happens
It's the same strength, you make the choice - absolutely adorable moogle weapons OR Ifrit weapons. Also, content with no rewards is a good thing too, because they can be content you do just for fun.
It's no worse than how XI handled things, where many loot were still one of the BiS for years. You and people who think like you seem to think there isn't a middle road that can't be reached.

You don't even know me, but thanks for trying.
As someone who actually played FFXI I know exactly how XI handled gear:
The level cap was 75 maximum for a good 5+ years, which means at best they could only create side grades and alternative gear because they let merits handle the rest of your progression -- This means the best gear came from Salvage, Nyzul, Sky and Sea for most jobs. They then introduced augmented gear with the first 3 add-ons, then raised the level cap to 99 in the process finally phasing out the gear that's been on top. XI was one of the few MMOs with gear that actually lasted once you obtained it.
Most MMOs phase out gear every update which people like and hate, much like people like and hate the fact gear lasted a long time in FFXI -- This means when people want XIV to be a standard MMO they aren't talking about reaching a middleground, they're talking about gear that gets phased out every major update, which Yoshida does seem in favor of in a way.
The way "I think" is gear you work hard for should never be phased out simply for the sake of creating fresh content.
Not to mention, they already stated the moogle weapons were the same strength as Ifrit's.
..Where I'm from that's called a middleground, instead of phasing out the gear or making it inferior to the previous gear, they made it the same strength.
