    Im not saying that I know for a fact what those abilities will be BrucyBangBang, its mere speculations; I will say however I am doubtful that we will continue to see an ability as broken as Sentinel, 66% damage mitigation is a little broken, imo and I would hope SE has plans to fix the problem, because then it just means all content that will be developed will be beat the same way: Sentinel the super attack and require little strategy.

    It's all moot within the next few weeks with the re-defining of abilities. One of the reasons these sorts of things take so long to do is because they need to re-balance the whole game for it in the process.

    I'm sure they've considered it, so chillax.

    I'd agree that those abilities sound like anything BUT Sentinel. The wording is all different and what they do based on the description is different, therefore I think it safe to assume the effects will be different no?

    the wording of gla abl 1 is exactly the same as the old wording of sentinel (pre 1.18 or 1.19 I dont remember) so prolly gla abl. 1 is going to be sentinel or something similar

    Well i guess how viable gla ability 1 would be for cross classing would really depend on how much extra hate each action after would would generate, and how long this would continue on for.

    It really seems like they took the current sentinel and mixed it with cadence and a bit of war monger.

    I know its really not that bad but I really HATE the job of gld and having to spend hour after hour after hour lvling it up solo is completely idiotic. But nope se had to make the hellfire such a pita that you cant enter without a job ability that is lvl 36. /sigh ok my rant is done, carry on.
    Wait for 1.20
    There is no Sentinel in the new skill list, I think

    edit: you think GLA ability 1 would be Sentinel? Hmm
    But maybe SE nerf it in 1.20 anyway

    You know, Sentinel could have been in the originally planned strategy for Ifrit by the devs. The point was to make it difficult for their hard core crowd. If in the first two, or in some casual linkshell's cases 3-4 weeks, you couldn't beat it without Sentinel then that is a clue you have some work to do. In these things, people start out with this strategy when they learn it within the first week and find new ways to get around it and make the fight more quick and efficient.

    The point wasn't to develop hard content that everyone could beat when it was released. The hardcore beat it in the first week and the casuals had to work to build their characters to fit the strategy. Not that this is an issue any longer since it is only a hop, skip, and a jump to get a class up to 50. Most players who are even casual have all of their battle craft leveled now. Not having Sentinel for a "Hard" instanced fight isn't the issue as it was most likely that way by design.

    Im actually glad some fights made some abilities more attractive to have, hell If i wasn't required to be more self sufficient in Ifrit I would have never leveled up GLD, CON, MRD, and PUG. Now I'm glad I did.
