Could we ever see a more beast-like race in a future expansion?

You could make a thread on these forums or the FFXIV subreddit to see what other people think but I think that's all you can do really.

I wouldn't mind having Lupine. They seemed interesting enough and the rigging on them already looked simple. Helms would be an issue but eh, I am sure SE could make it work.

helms could be quite easy really, allow the muzzles to clip though the helm and give them the ear hoods that miqotes have and if there ears clip though let lupins ears clip though. for full helms it could have a muzzle shape bent into it or just a larger helm head.

I mean, no one gives shit to us if we are a Duskwight in Gridania, mostly don't like outsiders of any ilk. I'm not askin the devs to retcon the lore, but maybe work with the exception since we already are a big one. We CAN be the only *insert beast dude type* to do stuff since canonically we are already the only WoL doing crazy things over the world.

Half the problem with that is the devs don't want players to get a dramatically different story experience based on the race they choose to start with. Though I would love to see more lines that acknowledge our toon's race, it's fine that the game doesn't too often. It can fall under the same design choice in that our race doesn't affect our job stats.

People have been asking for more beastlike races since ARR was first in beta, and the origional concept art for Au'ra was a lot more beastlike than previous races, the Japanese fan base didn't like it wanted them to be cute instead of scary... so not likely we'll get anything scary or intimidating any time soon.

Damn, that looks great. A shame we didn't get something closer to that. Love the female design. I don't hate what we got, but man, am I getting tired of all these petite character designs. Since we already have Au'ra, and there's no way to get that dropped concept art anymore, I am throwing in my vote for Ronsos as a new Race.

Don't Lupins use the same/similar character model as playable races? Not sure where I heard that from and if it's true or not but it could allow us to have a Ronso race if so. I've never seen the female version of Ronso so I would LOVE to see how both genders would look in FFXIV!

I'd also like to see a demon/voidsent race based off of those old character concepts of the Au'ri. It would awesomesauce, too if their character customization allowed use to partially base our voidsent character's appearance off of the enemy voidsent we encounter in the game.

It's too bad they didn't treat Au Ra like Hyur, as somebody else mentioned. We have the normal sized Midlanders, and then the Highlanders, who have a bigger and broader stature, look a little rougher, and the ladies don't move so petite.

The first pic does look like fan art but I really like the way it looks. The Ronso NPC I wish was bit more muscular and intimidating like male Ronso are, but they still look pretty okay. ^^

That's actually what I thought the Au Ra were supposed to be like between their respective clan's when they were first shown. It kind of really ruined the diversity the two clan's could have had. The petite women could have been apart of the Raen only while Xaela would've been like the highlander females, big strong and intimidating.
