The only reason I'm still playing XIV is for the raids and that's it. Anything else just makes me bored out my mind how easy and simple it is.
Thats the question i ask myself every day...

I keep playing most likely because I am addicted to the game. #bluntanswer
I often wonder why I am still playing. I enjoy the game and I have fun with it, but sometimes I feel like I've done everything there is to do. I have reached a point that I should be playing other games and doing other things but for some reason I do not. I suppose this is what is considered an addiction. I don't really have anyone that would miss me if I vanished the very next day, so it's definitely not the socializing that keeps me around. No matter how much I get burned out and bored, I continue to log in staying faithful and hopeful that a spark returns. Sometimes it does for brief periods but never lasting.
Sometimes, the fear of falling behind also keeps me playing. Missing out on the freshness of content. It's never fun to fall so far behind to the point you're now carried in unsync'd parties. Other times, it's the fear of losing the house. If I were to take a break, I'd want to be able to return with my character left exactly as they were. Not with my furniture and materials revoked and stripped away. But that's me being selfish.
Bottom line is, I think I keep playing solely because I am addicted to the game. If I am as burned out as I say I am, taking a break should be easy but it really isn't when I do enjoy the game.

Because of my Eternal Bond partner. He loves the game and I love playing with him, that´s all there is to it.
If it wasn´t for that I might resub each patch for the story or maybe wait until each expansion came, but nothing else. I find the game very boring outside of the MSQ and the first run through each dungeon / raid.

Because it's the only mmo I like. I've tried others but for some reason this is the only one that has clicked with me.
(That and my brother and my irl fiance play it too)

Stockholm syndrome.

It's just a fun way to pass the evenings.
"We want bunny suits for guys!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Ishgard housing!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Viera!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Cloud's motorcycle!" -- OK! ✅
"We want Blue Mage!"-- OK! ✅
"We want the ability to earn past Feast rewards!" - HAHA no that's sacred.

Really the only reason I am still playing is because I really love my Paladin. not the job per-se, (even though SB gave me 2 things I wanted since ARR), just her as a character. It's nice to have a means to put my old D&D character to life in a modern MMO.
I just wish the gameplay was more compelling.

Sadly, I don't see PLD becoming compelling... it's stuck in the easy to play class category. The game apparently needs to have a class which is easy to pick up for a newbie.Really the only reason I am still playing is because I really love my Paladin. not the job per-se, (even though SB gave me 2 things I wanted since ARR), just her as a character.
