Mod users in FFXIV are getting out of control

Well, those aren't post here in this forums, or in the game so i don't think GMs gonna punish that for harassment. I mean its like someone call me names in reddit and want the GMs to ban them.

Now they can do something for the Mods, but, well you need proof or some way for them to know.

I would advice to avoid Limsa Lominsa if possible. If you still need to go there, make sure not to drop your sword and/or not to bend over to pick it up.

Or change your character to Lalafell. I highly doubt there are any mods involving Lalafells... right? Right?

I find what you said to be rude and offensive and I feel attacked for expressing a concern and opinion. You can be entitled to your opinion as I am to mine
and I should be allowed to express a concern. I'm sorry if you're butt hurt over my feelings. Telling me to get help because you disagree isn't very nice. In a manner of speaking, posting this was trying to get help but creating an awareness. You're entitled to however and I won't judge for that but telling me to get help was unnecessary.

You're right. The game is not real life. Neither is the internet, but cyber bullying harassment is an extreme case that happens everyday.

You just said it yourself now that the game is not real life. So why did you went on saying that a screenshot of your own character with a nude mod is the same as a irl nude picture of yourself?

Edit: I already told you that you can put people on blacklist, if they harass you then you can also file a complaint.

I thought a game was supposed to be fun and stressreleaver? Why are you getting worked up about it? When somebody harasses you they want you to get worked up about it, that's the sole reason they do that.
Instead put them on blacklist, report to a GM and carry on, smile and onwards to your next dungeon, raid, whatever you want to do in game.

Ya when it comes to harassment if it is outside the game they won’t do anything. Had a friend get IRL stalked by someone in the game had discord messages, line messages, even in game messages and they told her get over it. If they actually did something about “they posted a screenshot of me I don’t like” I’d be a bit upset.

Unpopular opinion here. I can understand OP's worries. I didn't know modding had become that extreme, and hearing this makes me uncomfortable too, truth be told.

IDGAF about mods, people have every right to enjoy this game whatsoever as long as they don't violate the ToS, that said, I'd definitely report anyone who tells me they could see my character naked while I'm not wearing The Emperor's New~gear nor using the mod myself.

Considering that rule 34 is a thing, I'd be surprised if they didn't exist...

You are not a dragon girl, you only play one on TV. You are not your character, and you also bear no physical resemblance to it, unless youre that one guy from the Hyur thread that perfectly and amazingly duplicated himself. Therefore, as no harassment is occurring to a real person, only an imaginary and constructed individual made with tools provided by SE for entertainment purposes and coming part and parcel with 100% IRL anonymity, you are not being harassed. Your character is. Even if people takes nudes of her and spam them all over tumblr or whatever, it does not, in truth, involve you. It involves a cookie cutter nude skin over a cookie cutter au ra body that will look exactly the same as every single other au ra body with that mod on, completely removing the last inkling of the idea that this could be a personal attack.

Your concern is important to you, but it is unfounded in the long run. Therefore the solution should be one YOU create WITHOUT affecting a system that is not actually allowing harassment of you, but rather harassment of a created character with no consciousness, no soul, and very little individuality. I do not say this to be rude, but you do probably need to just accept this and deal with it. No one is going to harass you with nudes of your own character, and moreso, they wouldn't even need your character to do it. All they would have to do is recreate your appearance, take screenshots with the mod on, and lie that its you. You cannot possibly think it fair to remove client side mods because of so many things that the devs cannot control, and indeed, show no desire to control. Sorry, but it is not the big deal you're making it to be, to the vast majority. Most people do not even use these mods to begin with, but even if they did, as long as you do not, then you are not affected.

If you are so afraid someone is looking at your character naked, then realize that if they are, that speaks of them, not of you. You're not perving, they are. And you are not even truly involved in it. If someone creeps on you blacklist them. And I still wonder at how someone would harass you at images of your own naked avatar without you clicking some manner of link or something that you could just NOT click. You can leave discords. All the tools you need are at your hand. There is absolutely no need to ban these client side mods, if that were even possible.

I have been stalked, and I've even been blackmailed (and that was in real life and had nothing to do with internet or games).
The real life incident was the most annoying one, but what did I do? I swallowed my pride for that day and went to the police. Result > they dealed with it for me.
Online stalking? boy that was easy just put them on blacklist, they make a secret character? I put them on blacklist again. Contact GM. It stopped soon enough.

I apologize and agree with what you say. This is a game and suppose to be stressreleaver. I'll take your advice and move on.

Do me a favour, print this quote out, stash it in a drawer somewhere nice and safe where you won't see it for a good 10-20 years. Hopefully you'll stumble upon it later on in life when you've got some more experience behind you and you'll realise just how cringeworthy that sounds.

Debate and diversity are the building blocks of a great community and are at the heart of what keeps things fresh and interesting. You are indeed correct that you have every right to express your concerns, but claiming that someone is rude and offensive because they don't agree is just wet.

There is a way to have a great debate without hostility, and your reply just reeks of hostility to express your view point therefore suggesting I should take your way or the highway regardless of what my view points are.
