Defense of what? This stuff is endgame, and it doesn't "not matter" to people at endgame just because there will hopefully be much better stuff down the road.

People at endgame, who enjoy endgame, for the most part want more to do at endgame than just 2 things. It isn't "defending" anything, it is just asking for a reasonable commitment for the money we pay for continued development of content for us to play.

When I play an MMO I pay a subscription for the continued development of endgame content (especially in the last 5 years as the rest doesn't last past the free month). I just want more activities than 2 things... I don't think that is too much to ask for at all. All it takes is a shift in their design philosophy or for them to develop more content.

At any one time for endgame (meaning the content that people do after they reach the level cap, and assuming they did all content up to that point) to consist of less than 5 separate encounters is insufficient. I have never played an MMO long term that had such few encounters.

I have progressed through content to the point where there were only a few fights relevant to me, but someone reaching 50 right now does not need to do darkhold/world NM's/faction NM's at all (except for "fun", in which case I guess we have 5,892 endgame activities if you count every high level mob in Mor Dhona as "endgame").

That's the gripe most people at endgame have right now, and the purpose of this thread. It doesn't matter how "challenging" they make the moogle fight, if that is all we have to do for the next 3 months it is going to get very repetitive. Something which could easily be solved by giving us more to do (either a reason to do the other stuff, or preferably some new content like a few high level NM's)
