Forum etiquette - double-posting vs separating ideas?

As long as you don't edit posts in order to reply to something later in the thread, you're good in my book. Nothing disrupts a conversation flow more than someone replying in a previous post that has already been replied to. The person you're talking to will likely have no clue that you responded to them, and people who read it all after the fact have to piece together the conversation order.

Look, it ultimately doesn't matter what I post on this thread anymore, I said what I wanted to say, several people felt I was calling them out, and thus took it as a personal insult. All we need a few more frequent posters from GD to post here, and it will be a self-fulfilling prophecy anyway.

Since I'm on mobile, I can't edit my posts; snipping ensures I can get my opinion out without having to worry (much) about character limit.

When those of us use mobile, snipping posts allows us to avoid hitting the post limit since we can't edit on mobile.

Yea, except that's a pain because then the full version will get locked in to my mobile Chrome until I log out and log back in. It's a really inconvenient way to quote a post because there's no native way to revert back to the mobile site once you click that option.

Can you point out anyone who took it as a personal insult? Unless you ask them how would you know they are insulted?

Disagreeing or calling out something that is obviously unnecessary rude behavior doesn't always mean the person who called you out is insulted or offended because of it.

So just like you assuming the tone in my posts you are also just assuming this as well when in reality you don't know at all.

With your behavior on the forums suddenly towards other posters, you haven't really earned any sort of respect either. I have 9 years of customer service as well and it's still ongoing, that doesn't mean I'm qualified to make generalized statements that condemn a sizable chunk of the population to stereotypes based on my own personal views.

So now that we have established that you will blatantly disrespect anyone who doesn’t agree to your ways of thinking, anyone who disagrees with making sweeping generalizations about billions of people, or anyone who even calls you out when you are wrong, I think our conversation really has come to an end. I don’t care about your CS experience—I have several years in it myself; your attitude here is poor to people whom you don’t even know. Take your own advice for a minute: what do you hear? Because I hear blatant disrespect and rudeness. You are quick to call people out on sh*t-posting, yet just a few posts back, you yourself were sh*t-posting:

Most "western" forums don't have these limits, because western people have an inflated ego, and see "dem's fightin' words" everywhere if everyone isn't praising them.

This forum is not really that bad about it except for some posters who create essentially identical threads just to stoke the fires of an argument they were losing in another thread to bury the previous one, and all the other conversations with it.

Pointing out and offering different perspectives to your ignorant generalizations is not being personally insulted; it’s trying to get you to understand that you’re making a generalization that does not apply to all these people you’re saying it applies to.

Re: self-fulfilling prophecy—your statements can only be self-fulfilling if the people who respond to them are actually personally insulted or felt personally attacked by you, as you are insinuating that they are. So far, I see no one saying that they are personally insulted or that they feel personally attacked. That is an assumption you are making, and we all know what happens when someone assumes things.

If you’re so ignorant and/or arrogant to just assume that everyone on the western side of the world acts, quite frankly, the way you are acting right now, mayhaps you should take some time for some inner reflecting.
