    That's how Heavensward worked too. The Dreadwyrm weapons are your best weapons until you get a Vault weapon. Dreadwyrm and Ironworks armor is best until Vault armor or HQ at Level 56.

    Why not just remove all the skills too? You just need 3 buttons. Hit, heal, defend. No need to move, because people just move now anyway. Towns? Don't need that, take that away.

    Why even bother playing?

    And also. You seriously shouldn't be using Augmented Shire once you hit Bardam's. It's possible but you shouldn't do it. Going into Bardams with Augmented Shire puts you at almost 300 defense less than what the Level 64 HQ is at, and slightly below what the NQ is. It scales even more aggressively in Doma and by the time you hit Abania the empowered Ketu Slash from Inferno and the tankbuster from the Roader will nearly 1shot a tank in 270 Shire, you have 54% less defense than the Yanxian set, or 68% less defense than the HQ Gazelleskin set. This isn't even accounting for the VIT difference.

    Not to mention, you aren't even considering the value of Shire when Stormblood released. Basically equate it to a full Mendacity set today. That's what players had. It wasnt a couple hundred Poetics and BAM you have BiS (lol Shire BiS - no). It doesn't change that at one point the Alex and Shire gear were apart of 1 patch's BiS (mostly Alex though). BiS is always relevant for most of leveling (mostly Alex) because it otherwise wouldn't respect the effort player's invested in acquiring that gear (Alex). Now if you wanted to complain about like, crafted being relevant, like the Heavy Metal set, then sure. But it isn't. That would be like me going into Sigma with Chromite. The i250 stuff is crap, so it's not used. It doesn't even look good. (Shire was awful btw)

    Yeah, you only need to do dungeons once on your main to advance the story. You can actually level now without even touching them.

    -hunts, both SB and normal (you can kill hunt enemies with augmeted shire)
    -beast tribes (same)
    -trial roulette (only one trial is above 68 an below 70, susano is at shisui gear level)
    -24 man roulette (none are above 60)
    -50 roulette (capped)
    -MSQ roulette (again, capped.)
    -pvp (capped)
    -POTD (capped.)
    -challenge log
    -even leveling roulette, since majority is capped below 65

    The only job that really needs more post 65 and pre 70 is tank, for defense, and that's for four dungeons.

    And at 70, you can do just about everything in the basic ilvl you get at the start of each patch. I got disgruntled recently realizing that you don't need to cap your gear because so little content makes any real use of the gear.

    This is NOT about beast tribes, roulettes, and solo content. This is a dungeon thread. Dont go into a dungeon thread saying you don't need gear to do everything else besides dungeons, and then equate that to dungeons.

    You could ALWAYS level without dungeons. I could go kill trash in the overworld and that'll give me XP. It's trash XP but I can.

    If I want to grind out to 70 you need dungeons if you want to be effective.

    I agree that there should be a minimum ilevel requirement for dungeons. There should also be a minimum ilevel requirement on each individual piece, so that one would not be able to use a low ilevel weapon - which has the most impact on damage - with high ilevel accessories. They could make the ilevel requirement for accessories lower than the ilevel requirement for armour and weapon, since people might not want to upgrade their accessories as often as their armour/weapons.

    Other suggestions which people have made in this thread:
    - Minimum main stat requirement, so that one cannot use DoH/DoL equipment.
    - Job crystal requirement when at or above level 30 - perhaps enforce the requirement when they are level 35 to give them a little freedom in when they choose to complete their job quests.
    - Putting people in a leveling dungeon appropriate to their ilevel - there is the potential problem of people avoiding certain dungeons by equipping lower ilevel gear, but since this would only apply to leveling dungeons, there isn't much benefit to be had most of the time, since they'd just be getting less Exp.
