Sorry to boil your argument down to one issue but the answer is access.

Those willing to spend more have more access to sellable slots on the MB than those who don't.

They have the potential to make more in game money. It's not a direct pay X get Y gil, but the potential is there. Someone who doesn't pay only has 40 market board slots. Someone who pays $4 a month more gets access to 80 market board slots. They may or may not use them, but that's a fact that can't be disputed.

Anyone serious in market board manipulation is going to want as many slots as they can get.

It absolutely can. Battle Gear Pentamelded crafted gear is almost universally BiS. That is within the normal context of the game.

Pentamelded Crafted gear is always the best there is and is required for serious end game crafting. Scrip gear doesn't meet the minimums.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
