This was why Ramuh-egi couldn't be summoned (the Warrior of Light was already using all their aether for Ifrit, Titan, and Garuda), necessitating the research into Trances to gain greater power during the Heavensward SMN arc. (How this was overcome during the Stormblood arc I can't recall, if it was explained at all).
They never went back to the question of summoning the other egis. We have Bahamut now; what more could we want?

Maybe they're hoping to just not bring it up again so they don't need to create the new egi types. (Then again, we still need to have something new to learn in future expansions, right...?)

At a more in-game level, I did see an interesting theory (though can't remember where) about why we fail to summon Ramuh-egi at the Singing Shards - over in the Monk job quests, Widargelt talks about how the monks train in places "where aether flows strong" to bond with the power there, but it can only attune to one person. The Singing Shards is where we fight Tristan at the end of the ARR summoner questline, and he summons an egi there - so it's possible that he absorbed whatever power was there, and so there is none left (or at least accessible) when we try to summon Ramuh-egi in the same place.

Maybe I should rephrase. There is a good chance that the Warrior of Light could become a primal, not necessarily the player themselves. Depending on how canon you considering the Hildibrand story, it doesn't take that much to summon a primal, and there is a lot more faith in the WoL than there is in Enkidu.

Actually, I may need to look at some cutscenes, because I am starting to wonder what would be considered a sufficient amount of aether for summoning.

Re. the Hildibrand plot and 'summoning' Enkidu... I haven't played past the ARR stories (so may be missing later information) but have to wonder - was it really just Gilgamesh's wish that was enough to trigger it? Or is that chicken smarter than it's letting on, and able to summon Enkidu the same way Shiva is summoned? You don't see it while primal-Enkidu is there, but it reappears afterwards...

(Maybe you don't need so many crystals when you're working with a smaller host. Or it was just a really weak primal as a result.)

Initially summoning Egi doesn't work by absorbing energy from the surrounding area though. Instead it's using the elemental aspect of a location as a reference point to make your own aether attuned to that elemental aspect which matches the elemental aspect of the Egi you are trying to summon.

Zeno's was the imperial response to the wol, and we can see there is a great deal of mixed feelings in Garlemald involving us. We kill eikons, but we also drove their military advances to a halt.

Nidhogg's eyes, or a large amount of aspected crystals. I vaguely recall we did a quest in which we had to stop the tempered Amalj'aa from buying more crystals.

The main reason I asked about "Sufficient" aether was because of Garuda. Unless she had some aether to spare or there's something special between primals, she force summoned Ifrit and Titan just from the aether from some of their followers. It's an interesting thing to wonder about.

Nothing comes up afterwards about it.

The fantasy genre is a violent one. As depicted in games it can be particularly violent.

For the most part FFXIV lacks something you will see in most other MMOs: "go kill 327 people of that other shade of skin / scale / horns / etc and bring back their [insert random body part here]"...

    - Play any other MMO for a day and you're going to be looking at a long list of assignments to go wipe out sentient people...

Most of the 'fetch 231 body parts' quests here involve the mass slaughter of overgrown pigeons and such...

Most of the 'slaughter of other sentients' that our character here does seems to involve actual wartime activity. YES there are exceptions.

But FFXIV is a lot better about this than games where I can look at a kill log for my character and see '12,327 humans'...

that definitely wouldn't be my wols response considering he sees all ascians as unrepentent monsters (not the ancients, the ascians). at best hed just abandon them and travel to perfect his omnicraft skills.
