Yup, I think he probably meant armor isn't working as well as it should be...where as weapons make a huge difference.

That's a good question.
Yes, it should be skill > gear, but to a certain extent. If it's possible for the tank to wear no-stat gear and take on the hardest boss in the game, there's a problem here, devs.

I think it should be gear before skill.
Gear checks will make sure people cannot skip through content.
I do think, for that reason, gear should also definitely enter into the equation.
I simply mean that I don't think we should be able to see a well-geared group of noobs steamroll through a boss, especially with the powerleveling problem we have.
Skill and strategy should carry a heavy weight.
But I also don't think that even the best skilled group should be able to go in with no-stat gear and take down a boss, or else we run into what just happened here in this post.
I do somewhat like the idea of gear checks, I just don't want to see it become as crazy as WoW's dungeon finder, that won't let you enter heroics unless your gear score is high enough.
I think there are better ways to keep people from skipping content, like not letting them progress unless they do a chain of dungeons in order, etc.

Also you guys realize that gear can be worn under the Dream Gera, such as Hands, Legs, Belts, Acessories. None of which would ruin the Dream Gear look. They likely didn't take too much of a hit in damage mitigation, or offensive power
