We shouldn't be expected to use Twitter to keep up to date with the game. Especially not when Facebook was recently exposed at mishandling private data - and let's not pretend as if there isn't a decent chance that other major social media companies are tied to the same shady dealings, either. This is the official site for FFXIV. It most definitely should be one of the primary sources for FFXIV related information.

Then don't use Twitter? All the key points and relevant info from the live letter will be posted with the digest to the official site.

They simply said they won't be doing active translations on the forum and instead give a digest earlier (usually takes several months for them to do).

Last 3-4 live letter digests weren't bad honestly in time span between update thread and digest. ~2 weeks for 3 of the 4 live letters and the Dec one took 30 days because of holiday. Could certainly be faster and hopefully with cutting the update thread it'll be within the week.

They have an OFFICAL forum and for some reason they aren't using it. I don't feel being told to go to a third party site to get info is acceptable.
Twitter isn't providing much information anyway, so I guess we'll be relying on Fan Translations. As to the time it takes for the digest to come out, your definition of 'not bad' and mine are very different.
