And yet, it also helps make the races feel unique, especially when everyone is claiming they are all just hyur copies.
I like the fact that there are things that make them different.
I'd rather SE do more to differentiate the physical features than introduce more arbitrary gear/action locks. More varied ear/tail/horn combos, more scale pattern options (maybe even an option to be more scales than skin... the female lizards tend to be too far to the "cute" side for my tastes at least), more height/build options...
I feel like saying "you can't have this because you didn't roll x" is a cheap way to gate things. True variety comes from players choosing between many options to customize their characters right down to the idle pose they use, not by forcing restrictions based on race and gender.
Then we also shouldn't be allowed to use the beast tribe dances. Or the harvest dance, as that's specifically a Gridanian dance and we're an outsider, same with the Ball Dance, Step Dance, and we definitely shouldn't be able to use the Eastern and Thavnairian Dances.
OP isn't saying "Remove these as cultural aspects of the races", they're saying "Let us get access to the other dances via quests that teach us about the lore of the races". Which, funnily enough, would make each race more unique.
And regarding the dances in the first place (if they did add quests to get them), I think the quests for them should give them as persistent versions of the dances, just to add to the reward. That and I'd love to have a persistent version of the dance I get as my fem Au'ra.
Wouldn't all races become more unique by being able to do more dances separate from their basic dance? I mean you'd be able to express yourself in a lot more ways and I think that adds to the uniqueness

No, it would make races less unique. You are talking about uniqueness of individuals. The whole point of this request is to get access to something only one race has access to atm and to reduce the uniqueness of that race.
I would like more race exclusive gear, hair, physical features and emotes. The devs are taking the lazy route by designing 1 thing everyone can use instead of designing 6 things only one race can use.

To each their own I suppose, I just feel that exclusivity outside of a few rare cases just hurts glamour and customization for next to no reason. Hairs, dances, hempen and starter gears should be made available for all races because there's no good reason lore or otherwise for them to be exclusive. No, it would make races less unique. The lore behind the Elezen male dance is "I don't want to do this grooooan" and everyone else is "I'm that one person at the party who can't dance BUT I AM TRYING REALLY HARD OKAY"
Except for Au Ra, they can actually dance.
Hahaha that is exactly what it is! I have a male Elezen alt because I liked the character design, but their default personality-via-emotes is so "I'm too cool for this". (Slow sarcastic /clap emote especially.) I'd like to see him be more... enthusiastic isn't quite the right word, still a quiet personality, but warmer.
i kind of like that each race has a few things that are unique to them
