I remember reading someone saying that the piercing debuff is utility, which means that for brd/mch it's just extra damage. Basically, instead of brd/mch wanting a group with a drg, it should be the other way around because, without a brd/mch, drg becomes less useful. The more I think about it, the more I like this way of looking at it.
