tell them to git gud they'll actually earn more EXP.frankly, a "sync feature" wouldn't really do much for you. If your friends already have trouble getting to FATEs, you being at their level won't change anything. Just join the train.

Got another level on the train last night. Made the mistake of trying to spawn our own while they were off trying to do Paz. They failed to spawn that, and after much yelling and gnashing of teeth the train went on and spawned three more NMs before we could get the one we were working on to pop (but at least we got that one and another one immediately after).

So, yeah. I have no business being near Paz at level 8, but not following the train simply doesn't work very well. Not to mention that I can at least raise and heal my level 19 friends on that stuff, or not play with them at all. Having healing not scale at all is such a weird decision.
