Went into Eureka again last night and literally fell asleep waiting on a NM. It's highly riveting content when standing around doing nothing is the efficient method.Y’all need to stop complaining on the forums and actually play the content, numerous people are changing their opinions on eureka as they go through it. So the posts you’re reading about “eureka bad kms.” Might not even be valid anymore and the person you quoted specifically sounds like all his friends are actually enjoying it if he can’t pull them away from it. Most important, if you don’t like it that much just unsub. No point in torturing yourself with optional content. Whats the community team gonna do? Hand you a free relic? Lmao.
Do I think it's awful? No. The leveling process though is mind-numbingly boring.
NM training is NOT the most efficient method of leveling, it is simply the easiest and laziest. You get more exp partying with 8 and running off to kill mobs 4-6 levels higher then you ( preferably one that spawns an NM) and getting chain kills. Chains higher then 20 net some mad exp and if you’re up for doing it contstantly it’s faster then the train. Is it boring? For some people yes, some people would rather just roulette or something. For me I find it invigorating usually something 4-6 levels higher has the ability to make your tanks HP dance that would make most healers have a panic attack but I find the danger captivating and when someone accidentally pulls two? I’m in overdrive.

The reason people find it boring is I think more of a fault of FFXIV gameplay overall. The overall gameplay of attacking in ffxiv is very dull and drawn out if you are intent on throwing mob grinds at us. It's not like an action game where mob grinds can be alot of fun. I play dynasty warrioresque, hack n slash, kill all the things games, that generally are mindless mob grinders. and theyre fun! but mob grinding with the ffxiv system is well......a snooze fest in comparison. It's not something I personally want to do.
In regards to the OP, I'd love to see just more basic communication however, I don't think that will ever be the case, considering then they may make comments they can never live up too, or are erroneous to begin with.
"Within each of us, the potential for great power waits to be released."

Any sort of monster mob grind in this game showcases just how dull combat is. Rotations are not exciting. Playing whack-a-mole with HP is not exciting. The game has a lot of things going for it but combat without mechanics is not one of them. Eureka shines a huge light on this- it's all you can do, after all. So of course I get tired of it as I go through the motions for the millionth time. If we're supposed to mindlessly grind mobs the method in how we do that should be engaging. Smashing through wave after wave of creatures for pittances of EXP and maybe some good loot drops is fun in Diablo and even Earth Defense Force. In XIV it's practically soporific.NM training is NOT the most efficient method of leveling, it is simply the easiest and laziest. SE can do better about communicating to us in general. I'm not expecting Riot or even Blizzard levels of engagement, but almost anything would be an improvement over what we have. Loosen the restrictions on what team members can say, hire more people, give them more time to engage us, something. Trying to communicate to SE feels like I'm shouting to a brick wall. Screaming into a void. Utterly, completely wasting my time since they have more important things to do than gather player feedback.

Reminder:
I wonder.. does SE do this on purpose:
https://youtu.be/WBLHEiWmy4k
like that?
I mean before we where talking about glam dresser, and everyone spoke about those problems. Then out of nowhere SE changes the MSQ, then people rant about those changes. Now with diadem 3.0 out, people stop talking about those issues and now just focus on diadem 3.0
What happened to glam dresser issues? what happened to addressing the MSQ situation? then with all of this we get a post on fireworks and loot boxes =/ What about the misplaced PvP mount for the top 100? that is also weird call
Since some wanna talk about diadem 3.0, this goes back to my quoted response of the rep we got on it. My issue there is they show no indication of showing they read other things. Level sync for example is requested AN AWFUL lot here and on the Japanese boards. My point is even if they have no plans of implementing said change in the near future, they can at least say "we also see other ideas and concerns about elemental level adjustments and quests. We will forward these ideas as well but we an't guarantee change in the near future in regards to them" least they shows they truly read everything because to me lock box issues is on the lower end of importance, least to me and what I understand. Seems level sync is the biggest.. (Also social searching interfaces like PF is high up there)SE can do better about communicating to us in general. from reddit:
Yoshi-p has random streams called "Yoshi-p's walk" on Niconico when he feels like it, where he visits a random JP server and plays with people on that server. During tonight's stream, he revealed some back stories and future updates to Eureka.
- Eureka's first goal was to reanimate "Right after the launch of an MMO".
- Eureka will get an update in patch 4.3x.
- The next Eureka area:***** (Word will replace Anemos) will have a few new functions and game play elements added to it. (He hinted at something you can do solo as well)
- They are planning a levelsync system so players who started late can catch up (note: Not talking about the levelsync for NMs, but a levelsync you can use anywhere in Eureka)
- If they make it too convenient, Eureka will just turn into another/the usual FFXIV, so they will need to find a balance in between.
- The next hot fixes (planned for the end of March) will include some improvements to the game play and adjustments to the lock boxes.
- The hot fixes coming after the above hot fixes will include adjustments to "identifying Anemos crystals" to make it easier to turn Anemos crytals into inferior crystals.
- They will not implement a "deathscythe" in FFXIV. (TL note: a deathsyche is an item from FF11 with Damage:97 Delay:528 and was overpowered for a craftable "NQ regular item", meaning that it was as strong as top tier weapons for other jobs, even though it was easy to get and cheap on the auction house = market board. Deathscythe Hayashi = current lead item designer who got his name from the same item, was on the stream with Yoshi-p tonight, and to this day and after 14 years, people still remember him and his sins as the man who overpowered a scythe. For those players who haven't played FF11, just imagine the crafted ilv 320 (not 350) NQ weapon being as strong as the Kefka weapon (Ilv375) and only for dark knight).

If you say so.

Easy and lazy are two forms of efficiency. That said, it's also quite efficient time wise. I was racking up thousands of XP per NM at level 5, even ones well above me. It was only when they went to try to get Fafnir or whatever that we broke off to try to spawn a lower level one ourselves. The 60 XP we were getting for a kill with the chain at 10 wasn't at all competitive on any scale except easy... because while it was easy, it was also slower and mind numbingly repetitive as compared to trying to raise people while not getting massacred myself in the train.
