Practically nothing changes with your EL in Eureka, it's just an arbitrary number that affects how much you deal and are hurt by enemies based on their own arbitrary numbers. Whether you're EL 1 or EL 20, fights play out exactly the same way because your abilities and traits and stuff all stay 100% the same due to it being level 70 content. So you don't even get that same feeling of progression, the new skills and elements and complexity gradually being added to your class, as you level up.No it's not. Would you agree with someone saying to you "The combat system is boring in FFXIV, I have too little things to do" when he was only level 10 in his class ?
The pace in Eureka seems to change drastically depending on your elemental level.
I'm not posting for your coherence, scroll back many pages & read it all yet Fyce is trying to tune down our vocal cords upon how almost all of this isn't right(Matter of fact I purposely do some incoherent comments). I wonder if you understand that whatever we type here, we have to be careful on how we phrase it?What tells me you arnt disguised? Seriously tho, I am done posting for the night & btw, english is my secondary language

I'm trying to "tune down your vocal cords" because you are just saying incoherant gibberish of hate at this point.
We get it. U mad. That's something we understood 50 pages ago.
Now you are so desperate that you feel the need to jump on people who find a minion cute.
Even I stopped arguing about Eureka itself in this thread for quite some time now.

You're right, I was hastily quoting the cumulated 3.7% that use the forum "often" as opposed to the 62% that never do. Which still means that people who post, even rarely, are far from representing the majority of the playerbase, whatever their opinion is.
If that makes you happy, by only having 117 messages, you're probably part of a bigger sample than me, I guess![]()

Not many post, but daily usage of the official forums is fairly high according to that exact same poll.
Perhaps those who post simply do so when there's something that, to them, is worth posting about? That does not, however, mean there's a massive disconnect between the forum population and the population in general.Q3. Do you view the official forums?
------------------- JP -------- NA ------- GB --------- FR --------- DE
Every day. --- 27.0% ---- 42.4% ---- 45.3% ---- 37.9% ---- 32.8%
Sometimes. --- 65.6% ---- 53.9% ---- 51.3% ---- 57.1% ---- 62.1%
Never. --------- 7.4% ----- 3.7% ------ 3.4% ------ 5.0% ---- 5.1%
Nor are we necessarily a self-contained faction of like minds. Why assume then that a collection of random posters, just by merit of posting, are inherently misrepresentative? If we're anything like at ARR's release (and honestly the trends seem to be towards increased forum activity and involvement, especially during periods of decline or over content lulls), our users include almost half of our respective population.

If you don't post, you don't express your opinion. Just looking at the forum is irrelevant into a debate.
Because for a sample to be representative, it needs to be big enough, or appriopriately taken from every demography of players. Since we have no way to ensure the second, the only thing we could rely on is the number.
Keep in mind that's only a problem if we want to use statistics to prove something. As long as it's only sharing our thoughts and opinion, it doesn't matter how many we are.

Can we stop this gotcha battle already? Both sides can't see Eye to eye this is plain as a day but enough is enough
@ edit to save space: I agree this doesn't have a lasting content, once you are done with what relics you want there's really nothing for you to do.
It all depends how they'll update this imho since even potd was really nothing at the start and it only really bloomed once the update for hoards and 51+ floor came (at least on my server)

I know that this thread is already long enough but I dont want to create another Eureka thread or something so just posting it here.
A question to everyone, no matter if you like it or not. Do you realistically see this as long living content?
I ask this question because we had a big amount of time put behind it (even if we dont know how often they worked on it) and for me I just cant see how this will be long living. Not because I dislike it and want it to fail but because imo there is nothing there to keep most people to come back to.
Lets look at Palace of the Death: This was released in HW and unlike a lot of other new content its still alive. For me this has a few reasons.
- You can do this from one player to four without any job restrictions.
- You can get lots of stuff from it (and some sell quite high, like the mount)
- You can use this to get glamour weapons that at least look a bit different from others
- You can level up other jobs with that.
- You get stones from that.
- You can challenge yourself by trying it solo.
So Palace of the death is imo still going because people have a solo challenge, can do this with their friends and you get loot and exp out of this. So if you are sick of leveling up with dungeons and fates you can do some runs in there. This will still be good with the next expansion too.
Now lets look at Eureka:
- It has a relic weapon which only will look different (glow) at the very last step.
- You cant level your alt jobs inside of this.
- You cant sell mounts and stuff because those are at least right now not tradeable and the other glamour items that should be made tradeable will probably be worth nothing.
- You get stones by doing fates
- You cant help your friend right now if you are too high apart.
I fear that relic weapons alone wont keep that content relevant after 4.x. Yes some might go in there to get the relic stuff (and its probably one of the few reasons why it will stay alive longer than Diadem) and some might just go in there to get some stones or to help but honestly I cant see that the majority will get back to it after they got their stuff out of that.
Even with pets and mounts did Diadem die so that alone should normally not be an incentive enough to do that after this expansion. You cant simply level with it, you cant really help your friends right now and if people will go there less you might not see it as a good way to get stones because its takes longer. You cant even use it as a way to earn money, or in a way to challenge yourself. So for me this content is meant to die. Not necessarily because people dislike it but because there is simply nothing much there to have the majority come back. Yes it might still stay
a bit alive because you can go in solo but is that then really successful?
For me the relic is truly the only thing that will keep it a bit more active. Take that away and you would have a beautiful but completely death zone that has nothing to offer after you get the glamour. And for me this is not worth the long time it took to develop. And its a bit shocking that they did not introduce else in there that will keep it relevant a bit. I mean imo the relic should have been another reason to go there but not the major one.
So what is your opinion on this? No matter what "side" you are on please remain nice and no insults to others. I am just curious how you see it and maybe with a bit of a discussion I do find reasons why a lot people truly go back to this after finishing relic. Or maybe it will show that they kinda forget to put something long and meaningful in this.
