If I sub 6 months at a time, and it just happened to auto renew just before 4.25 then what? It is not your place to judge people. Trying to insult me by being passive/aggressive "I know what kind of poster you are" but then turns around and ends up doing what I am being accessed of. There is a word to define such speech, hypocrite, usually responded to "kettle black" for the internet slang. You are only here to promote flame war, and you dislike I called you out on it, so now you are scrambling to defend yourself.
Nope, the point of these forums are for leaving feedback, what the adult thing to do, is not make posts that you are making. I know this game does not do this but on WoW they encourage you to make a post on why you are leaving and what you think. So you have no place to be posting like you are, esp when the person is used to such a system.
+1, I agree. last time I done it it was still the same and none of the options fit.

And I find it sad that seemingly someone is a baby because they came to the general forum where you talk about the game and where even GM said that people post some problems and point out why they will not continue to play the game. And instead of just either ignoring it or just talk about it in a normal way people go out of their way to insult him.
You do know that the customers that go silently are the worst for a company? Because with them they wont know why thus cant get better. He said his deal, he did not attack the playerbase in his first post. He just showed how long he played, that he loved the game but that he want certain changes and that he is disappointed. And yet some answers feel like he attacked the people personally..Again this kind of feedback is a million time better then no feedback at all. Even Yoshida himself said that once..
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
And this is why this game will eventually fail: not only they don't get any of our feedback straight - if receive any at all that is - but the player base will actively punish these players if they express any their own opinion, as if they're afraid of changes or they're trolls or something.
I can't count the times where I got bashed heavily, called stupid, sometimes even mentally disabled (Yep, I was called that because I disagreed something about the community) for simply comments about many questionable features (glamour prisms, fc rooms, housing, the list is full) and I remember an old friend getting the bashing too for his concerns about the HW story blockade debacle too, telling me that he got even permanently banned from the forums - but whether this is true or not I cannot say, I haven't spoken with this friend in years.
I think the best words to describe this situation, is just to "let it go": it is clear that SE has no intention to change its patching cycle, as they will add failure upon failure in they attempt to make us "look forward to new exciting content", while having the total protection of the hardcore fanbase who will defend even the most horrible and pathetic content features for the sake of nostalgia.
I loved the game despite its flaws, I supported it for 4 years - with this being my second most played mmorpg I have, second to WoW only - and I enjoyed some story bits of it - not a fan of the MSQ but I really enjoyed the job quests, especially ARR ones - but since my words WILL be considered a threat and most likely be called out a troll or hater, I just decided to talk with my wallet instead and bring my money to other games, because there's no possible way to have a polite conversation if you disagree with anything that the devs or the playerbase say. And I think the OP did the right think.
With that said, my account has about 5 days left as of this message, so don't bother telling me to unsubscribe.
Although I can't stop anyone either...

This is insanely common, if one actually talks in game and tries to know others, you see this pop up a lot, "OF is toxic" "You get banned for disagreeing with the common norm" so on. So that issue definitely exists, and maybe that is part of the reason not many bother to post to begin with.
I mean look at this thread:
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post4618217
that first reply. i mean... what is going on here? in the forums in general?
I have no issue if other people enjoy content that I don't like (I don't like pokemon but my sister does, and yet we get along pretty well), but considering that there many, MANY players who are concerned about the quality of the new content, I think it would be good to take note of this and not just flatout say "troll" or "hater"

You know most forums have goodbye threads being against the rules. I say that as my entire point was people don't like them and attack those threads cause 99% of the time it's just for attention. Yes they don't have to be mean or go " bye " or whatever.. BUT again.. he didn't NEED to post it. Both sides are wrong is what I was trying to get at. I had a question but it's pointless as it feels like noone reads and is going off emotion lately cause of this patch. :c`

really? people are this blind to insults just because they said they like something? or are you just confused what post I am talking about?
I did not say the TC in the thread, I said the first reply to it, it flat out insults people trying to criticize this diadem 3.0 in any shape or form.
wow encourages to to do so, so no, sorry. So again if this person is simply used to a community like that, they would be looking at you like you have 4 eyes (tbh that is how I look at your reply because I do play wow and pretty much the other other thing I know) I see no issue in telling the development why you are quiting (or thinking about quitting even if they don't) to give development (hopefully) something to think about. Also note a GM always replies to you suggesting to players to visit and post on the forums for FFXIV.
see? these voices should be heard, not feel fear to be scrutinized by other players and end up not saying anything at all. Want more ideas for your game? know how to do that? ever heard of "think tank?" that is what these forums are for, not for one individual idea to get passed, but for someone to post something, and people can chip in to refine it to a working system, built by many. This is what community managers are supposed to be doing, not this. say nothing.
