So if he does seek attention the adult way to handle this is by being mean to him, stalk his profile and so on? If you (as in the people) think that he is just doing that to get attention why not just ignore its post? Because with every single post that the other side do will just keep the thread on the front line thus giving it more attention. I am just always a bit baffled that people cant just ignore some threads. I dont go into everyone and if I dislike a thread I still stay mostly on topic for this.

I am on the forum a lot and I dont see such threads that often..and again..people dont need to read them. x)

(And if you look at the first and second post they are nearly the same amount of likes, so yes a lot people dont like his post but also quite a lot of people agree with him)

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

You can't! 1 month does not prove anything. I see what kind of a poster you are, a person that starts flame wars and does not read what the person is saying. If I sub 6 months at a time, and it just happened to auto renew just before 4.25 then what? It is not your place to judge people. Trying to insult me by being passive/aggressive "I know what kind of poster you are" but then turns around and ends up doing what I am being accessed of. There is a word to define such speech, hypocrite, usually responded to "kettle black" for the internet slang. You are only here to promote flame war, and you dislike I called you out on it, so now you are scrambling to defend yourself.

Nope, the point of these forums are for leaving feedback, what the adult thing to do, is not make posts that you are making. I know this game does not do this but on WoW they encourage you to make a post on why you are leaving and what you think. So you have no place to be posting like you are, esp when the person is used to such a system.

Don't worry, I can check on May again I just wanted to prove my point that almost every single thread that starts with a "I unsubbed because" is just a lie.
this post was already addressed long in the past so why are you posting again?

If I were going to make a thread stating I cancelled my sub, I would make sure I wouldn't make one right after having my sub renew a 6 month plan, as it makes the argument "Eureka killed my sub" completely irrelevant and leaves a lot of room to flip flop (since that gives you enough time to do 4.3, 4.35 and maybe 4.4). Heck, I'd make sure to change my plan to be one month before it auto-renews, especially if I were feeling burnt out on the game and Eureka was the one thing I was hoping for to keep me subscribed until 4.3.

OP has also said they did not like how 4.1 was handled, so it's really hard to believe he would let his sub renew a 6 month plan right before Eureka came out. Maybe before/right after 4.1's release (meaning his sub could end this month), but definitely not before 4.25.

But we are still not the OP so just because you or me or anyone else would do it different does not mean that the OP reacts the same and thus does not really mean that he lied. Maybe he did have still enough fate to renew the sub for a longer time and completely lost it after Eureka. Then he made a rant in this forum that also at the same time did not show some good sides by some posters that just attacked him personal instead of just ignoring the thread. Maybe after one day they got some people in the FC or friends talking him back to playing it at least until his sub is done. Its still his money that he paid so why not use it. Maybe deep down there is still the hope that there is something in it that will keep him playing.

Anyway the reasons can be so much. Having someone just go and stalk his profile to see if he is active and then telling people that he lied (thus necroing the thread that should not even exist in the opinion of some posters) is petty imo. There is no solid proof that this means he completely lied. We simply dont know. And for me that at least shows the character of other people way more than his. (Who knows maybe he has friends that want try this out and he lets them play it.)

And I find it sad that seemingly someone is a baby because they came to the general forum where you talk about the game and where even GM said that people post some problems and point out why they will not continue to play the game. And instead of just either ignoring it or just talk about it in a normal way people go out of their way to insult him.

You do know that the customers that go silently are the worst for a company? Because with them they wont know why thus cant get better. He said his deal, he did not attack the playerbase in his first post. He just showed how long he played, that he loved the game but that he want certain changes and that he is disappointed. And yet some answers feel like he attacked the people personally..Again this kind of feedback is a million time better then no feedback at all. Even Yoshida himself said that once..

You know most forums have goodbye threads being against the rules. I say that as my entire point was people don't like them and attack those threads cause 99% of the time it's just for attention. Yes they don't have to be mean or go " bye " or whatever.. BUT again.. he didn't NEED to post it. Both sides are wrong is what I was trying to get at. I had a question but it's pointless as it feels like noone reads and is going off emotion lately cause of this patch. :c`

Telling OP he's in the wrong for posting is victim blaming. This is a forum for discussion about the game, he posted a neutral farewell post about why he was leaving. Even if he went after the people calling him stupid and telling him to quit in the way they deem proper, he has every right to express why he wants to leave. It's not really for us to judge his unknowable circumstances beyond what he's posted, nor attempt to shame him for somehow doing it wrong. And as others have said companies LIKE knowing why customers leave. Especially when they can point to specific examples. Even if YoshiP himself does not grace this thread with his presence to personally thank the OP there are people who collect player feedback and pass it on.

Is everyone missing the point that goodbye threads are mostly sen as attention seeking? That was my only point. People are acting like we LIKE goodbye threads. Every thread like this has ben met with " Why? Just leave noone cares" On just about every single forum ever on the net. Why is it now all of sudden ok?
