Yes, and I'm sure video games don't apply here!

Why shouldn't we? Who the hell are you to judge? I may care about Japan, but if Square-Enix takes too long to get their *** together I will not stick around. That's the reality of the situation. No one is obligated to stay here and wait because there was an earthquake. No MMORPG company is obligated to give Square a "free pass" because of this so that they can catch up with them, and nobody will. No, the world doesn't work that way. That's what Square should care about.

I doubt Japan's economy is based around if 'you stick around' in a free to play MMO.

So I can read about how your family really wanted a MMO kept online for another month instead of giving them aid.

That's THE REALITY of the situation. The game doesn't matter in the big picture.

Yes it is, if I'm not around when they start taking subscriptions. Why would I be if it takes them too long to set things up? Sure I can understand why it might, doesn't mean I am obligated to wait. I'm not.

Well, if it affects me directly that's another issue altogether (hint: right now only this game being down affects me directly). You're really doing a poor job trying to guilt me though.

Are you really so naive that you think the government wants the people to have electricity over companies? Companies need the electricity to get the economy up and running, and that's beneficial for everyone. I'm sorry if the world doesn't revolve around your petty ideals.

    Wow.

I really have nothing to say to that.

Well this is certainly going no-where. I suggest you gentlepeople agree to disagree, and come back tomorrow to find out what the decision is.

One thing is for certain though, you're both still wrong. i mean honestly, Shazam, wake up to the world. Japan as a country is in shock to be sure, but they're not down. They carry on their lives just as we would if it had happened to us, because the world is unforgiving and if you sit down too long you lose.

It's an unfortunate fact of life, SE is a company, their main forte is videogames. an MMORPG still costs them whilst it's not running, so it is indeed in their best interests to get it back on track ASAP.

On the other hand, Betel, whilst i agree with you on the cut throat reality of a business world, you're a cold son of a chocobo. |:

If worst comes to worst and the servers aren't brought back within a month, Square Enix had better roll out a stellar update to draw people back..

How dare you think that people would leave. Japan is in crisis! We're all supposed to just sit here and wait indefinitely.

I'll do, I'm in no hurry. I enjoy playing FFXIV but it isn't the center of my universe. If I have to wait 1 week, 6 months or 2 years, I don't mind, I'll enjoy it when it's back.

I don't know about their bussiness and I won't be judging their actions. If they lose money or whatever it's up to them. I don't work for SE so I can't judge them, I'm poor, they're rich, so maybe they know more about money than me.
