Well this is certainly going no-where. I suggest you gentlepeople agree to disagree, and come back tomorrow to find out what the decision is.

One thing is for certain though, you're both still wrong. i mean honestly, Shazam, wake up to the world. Japan as a country is in shock to be sure, but they're not down. They carry on their lives just as we would if it had happened to us, because the world is unforgiving and if you sit down too long you lose.

It's an unfortunate fact of life, SE is a company, their main forte is videogames. an MMORPG still costs them whilst it's not running, so it is indeed in their best interests to get it back on track ASAP.

On the other hand, Betel, whilst i agree with you on the cut throat reality of a business world, you're a cold son of a chocobo. |:

That is true. I don't doubt that they must carry on, and that the world is unforgiving. I just doubt that their world revolves around a free-to-play MMO and that SE as a business revolves around said free-to-play MMO.

Who gives a *** about games and a MMO?

Only stupid, selfish, (and apparently arrogantly sociopathic) ***.

The business and economy of Japan DOES NOT revolve around this game, and certainly does not revolve around a single player of a F2P MMO whining about how the downtime of it's servers 'directly affect' them.

But then again.. I am 'Only making a point' or 'questioning objective thinking'. When in reality I am saying that this thread, this game, these players... mean just about jack squat in the bigger picture.

Getting the doctors, the schools, the retailers, the manufacturers, the farmers, the producers and the providers back online is the priority.

Claiming that a free-to-play MMO shutting down servers is going to be the downfall of the economy is just plain selfishness and stupidity.

How dare you think that people would leave. Japan is in crisis! We're all supposed to just sit here and wait indefinitely.
Yes, it is in crisis. You are to sit there and wait for your free MMO.

    Betel, you terrify me.

The people making those products? The operators who manage the servers? I mean, they'd have to in order to continue to do what they do, make money, and provide for their families, who probably appreciate their efforts, especially at this moment in time. That's just my guess, though.

If worst comes to worst and the servers aren't brought back within a month, Square Enix had better roll out a stellar update to draw people back..

I'll do, I'm in no hurry. I enjoy playing FFXIV but it isn't the center of my universe. If I have to wait 1 week, 6 months or 2 years, I don't mind, I'll enjoy it when it's back.

I don't know about their bussiness and I won't be judging their actions. If they lose money or whatever it's up to them. I don't work for SE so I can't judge them, I'm poor, they're rich, so maybe they know more about money than me.

That's a nice sentiment, but realistically, Square Enix doesn't have all the time in the world.

That being said, all it takes is a stellar update upon reinstatement to turn things around for the positive.

"But one school means jack squat in the big picture! One manufacturer means jack squat in the big picture! One provider means jack squat in the big picture!"

This MMO is a part of the Japan itself. How hard of a concept is this to grasp? Nobody is talking about "the downfall of the whole economy" if this producer goes down. That's just something you made up.

Shazaam i reccomend you to do a petition to shutdown all the pachinko, games centre, maid cafe, and whatever shop on Akibahara, i mean really anime shop in the middle of crisis?

here is a fact, whatever that generates money is part of economy.
and btw gaming and anime is one of their best revenue.
