It's possible, but I doubt it'll happen. I mean, it's not really even up to SE.

You guys need to get over it. Half of Japan is already back to work as if nothing happened. SE themselves said they were working.
Japan is not a weak country, they have a strong self obligation to get things back up how they were as fast as possible. Their work Ethic is HIGHER then anyone else world wide. And they always come back from the brink of oblivion stronger then they were before.
Stop acting like Japan is a third world country and not one of the strongest economies on the planet even with this disaster.
Yes we should be charitable and give them aid. But do not dictate how they should spend their time.
I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

Probably the half of Japan that has jobs in industries other than entertainment. SE is working when they can, but the amount of time is likely limited to when they have electricity.

Indeed. You guys need to get over it. Half of Japan is already back to work as if nothing happened. SE themselves said they were working.

What happened was a terrible tragedy, but life goes on. SE does not work at the Nuclear reactors so they should be trying to get back to routine. Most of those who still have jobs (aka didn't lose them due to the destruction caused by the Quake/Tsunami) are back to work. Normalcy is needed now, mourning will go on for a long time to come, but in order for Japan to rebuild they need their economy as strong as possible, which means people need to work and spend.
Servers will be up as soon as they can get em up. I expect them up within the week, next week at the latest. Either way I am content playing catch up on some console games until FFXIV servers are up again.
I agree with this completely. Yes what happened was a tragedy and all but they aren't just sitting around confused not knowing what to do next. Their economy has to keep moving regardless of whats thrown at them because if not they will do more damage to their country than the events themselves. I'm sure they are keeping an ear open for emergency news but besides that they would have to keep pushing forward. You guys need to get over it. Player
Yes, and I'm sure video games don't apply here!
Why shouldn't we? Who the hell are you to judge? I may care about Japan, but if Square-Enix takes too long to get their *** together I will not stick around. That's the reality of the situation. No one is obligated to stay here and wait because there was an earthquake. No MMORPG company is obligated to give Square a "free pass" because of this so that they can catch up with them, and nobody will. No, the world doesn't work that way. That's what Square should care about.Quote edited by moderator

I doubt Japan's economy is based around if 'you stick around' in a free to play MMO.Yes, and I'm sure video games don't apply here!

So I can read about how your family really wanted a MMO kept online for another month instead of giving them aid.
That's THE REALITY of the situation. The game doesn't matter in the big picture.

Idiot wind, blowing through the buttons of our coats
Blowing through the letters that we wrote
Idiot wind, blowing through the dust upon our shelves
We’re idiots, babe
It’s a wonder we can even feed ourselves
