    The easiest argument against this is that dragons reproduce asexually. There isn't any way for them to get or give genetic material to anything else. What can be passed on (sort of) is their aether. But we've only seen that happen when the original Heavensward ate Ratatoskr's eyes and all their decedents have latent dragon aether. The other time is that according to Hrasvelger, he ate Shiva and the somehow caused her aether to stay with his. But none of that goes so far as to change people's appearances to become more draconic as a genetic trait.

    I'm still wondering if/when they'll ever touch on the subject of that third Au Ra clan they suggested to be the progenitors of the other two during a lore panel.

    It never really held any water to begin with. The lore in-game or otherwise says absolutely nothing that would suggest as much.

    It seems like a given that we're going to get a Scholasticate-like (That is, a lengthy sidestory that isn't Hildibrand) questline involving Adkiragh in the future judging from all the hints they've been dropping, and I'm hoping it'll have some juicy lore tidbits.

    I just see people talking about it every so often. I am totally fine with a unique origin. Though a funny twist would be if Au Ra turned out to be perfect Allagan experiments that just ran off or were abandoned.

    Did they really say that the Raen and Xaela split from another clan?
    Technically that "third clan" could be the Aura Sui of the Ruby Sea. They do not consider themselfes Raen anymore so you could (if you were so inclined) consider them to be a third clan.
    They are also very isolated and it is really remarkable that they seem to be healthy when there has to be quite the inbreeding going on.
    I don't know verbatim what was said about how the Sui fled from wars, but it might be that they even split before the Raen left the Steppe (but they have Japanese names so I don't know how likely that is)

    The "guide" NPC at Sui-no-Sato refers to her kind as "We Raen", so that's clearly not the case.

    All they said about that third clan of Au Ra is that they've been around a lot longer then the other two have, and I feel like that kind of suggests they're descendants of them.

    Lamia. Allagan creation based on the Ananta Beast Tribe.

    @Topic:
    Maybe its just some origin story which doesnt have any truth in it. I guess the very first Ancestors of the Au Ra saw 2 big dragons flying in the sky and create a fictional myth about a dawn father and a dusk mother. Sure, both Raen and Xaela believe in this story, but that doesnt mean its actually true.

    Or do you believe in a speaking, burning bush or some dude who can split the red sea?
