I never thought I'd say it but -- more NMs please. Doesn't have to be as many as Diadem, but not so few that it's a hunt zerg-fest when one does pop up.

You've got to get players engaged in the content by giving them a carrot, not a stick. Right now, they see that 5,050 protean crystals are needed and they mentally give up.

I've grinded about 4 and a half levels today, and gotten 41 proteans. Overall...I enjoy the concept. But, there is room for improvement. Leveling will take a long time. There's a higher drop rate for crystals the higher you go, so that doesn't concern me as far as the farming goes. What does concern me is the time/effort it takes to level. The spawn time for NMs also seems longer than it should, considering the exp grind already in place. Personally, I believe that the drop rate for crystals should be slightly increased (maybe 4-5% more) as well as the exp gains. I really couldn't say by how much as far as the exp gains go, but they are very clearly on the low side as they are now. Other than that...not really any other complaints I suppose.

It designed to mimic Abyssea. The problem though is when FF11 came out. Grind was the way you accomplished everything. You had to grind monsters in a certain zone. Then Grind Ranks to get airship passes and rewards. Then Grind Abyssea for that story and so on.

Eureka is fine. People want quick rewards, not have to work for them.

You're right. I don't want to work in a game I pay monthly for to be entertaining. The real tragedy of this launch is that putting it out isn't an elaborate honeypot to delete the accounts of people who defend this nonsense.

Get this, I did the anima and zeta grinds all pre-nerf when they were relevant. Because most of them were fun in some way. There is literally nothing acceptable about Eureka. Not the time required, not what the content is,not the rewards, and certainly not any of the ancillary designs around it like this elemental nonsense. It is insulting that they spent so much development time on this, cutting actual good content in the process. I would be less mad if we had received literally nothing in it's place.

I want to see a few things.

    (1) Most importantly, I want to see something done that alters how combat plays out. Elemental affinity affects pre-combat planning, which I suppose is something, but FFXIV desperately needs a mechanic that alters the feel of combat itself. Eureka is the perfect vehicle for this. They should look to implement something similar to Atma from FFXI's Abyssea, as a start.

    (2) Tiered objectives, especially in the NM system. Shifting some of the grind over to tiered series of forced NM spawns would be a big improvement.

    (3) Gear that actually feels worth it. Five meld slots is kind of cool, but I was hoping for something far more interesting than what amounts to the Wondrous Tails versions of i350 HQ crafted gear. Couldn't we at least get unique, within-Eureka effects from the gear that add tweaks to how a job plays, bonus Trait-like effects, how certain skills work? Please?

If so, SE forgot several fundamental components.

Where is the Light system, which forced us to play our jobs in a different way depending upon our objectives? Where are the Atma, which tremendously boosted our power and really created a unique sense of fun and combat variety? Where is the proc system for NMs, which introduced a degree of strategy and tactics for proper farming?

Saying this was designed to mimic Abyssea is like saying FATEs were designed to mimic Besieged. What is the development strategy here, strip out every mechanic that makes a bit of content in FFXI unique, and improve the graphics?

I would like an alternative way to get crystals as a hand/land disciple. I don't expect it to be easy but I can only take so much button mashing. Maintaining an optimal rotation is exhausting. I want to rest but work towards the relic while I listen to a podcast or something.

Make me excavate or contribute to a project FC airship style (no leves or moogles >:0).

No, people want to have fun with the content, not just mindly grind boring enemies with no substance for hundreds of hours to obtain obsolete gear.

Please please please make tank and healer XP scale to the same point as DPS, I'm getting 40XP per kill on my lvl 56 NIN which does less damage than my lvl 70 PLD which only gets 10XP per kill. I'm actively being discouraged from playing a role that is necessary within parties.

    - I love the design of the map but, I find certain areas a bit "glitchy", like the elevation on the ground (rocks, roots, mounds) are not consistent. I think SE tried to give them dimensions but the construction isn't polished. sometimes it would look like you can jump over, then you hit this invisible wall and have to go around. I guess it's WAI because it's an additional predicament?
    - lack of achievement/logs so we have an idea how we're progressing outside of the duty. or maybe I missed it, but when my party and I were on break we were all "how many exp do you still need?" "dunno I think I'm halfway to 5?" I don't expect fully detailed logs like the journal, just a meter perhaps, like a tab on the character window?
    - I like the suggestion on variety of activities, like based on the weather, people can take advantage of certain elementals, and we get to do defend an area etc. right now, it seems people camp on one spot and wait for NM. just to make the area more interactive outside of one's party.
    - also support a shorter spawn time for NMs.

More notorious monsters and variety in objectives is needed. Perhaps some sort of daily and weekly bonus for people that just want to casually grind on top of it all. At the very least there needs to be something else to do besides constantly fighting the same mobs over and over until your brain explodes.
