Ah yes, the story of turning an utter tragedy into something that leaves a bittersweet feeling.

Verses no story at all. Just emoting. Do this FATE full of funny enotes and you get to use them outside of the FATE, kthxbai.

I think coming from someone who skipped out of the last two years, did you guys not notice they gave us literally nothing to get attached or invested into the Songbirds? They didn't have any plot at all, thus the Lonesome Lass quest appearing, which feels much more like an on theme event quest.

This event was kinda a raw deal. The story we had related to the holiday was dark, and the alternative was boring, plotless, and had nothing to do with anything. But, that makes me want the Songbirds *even less* if it means we see quests like the first two years that were genuinely sweet and endearing.

To be honest, I didn't mind the darker side of the Holiday Quest this year. In a way it felt like... I'm not sure how to describe it exactly. It was a bit of a tribute to the sad truth of history, I think, to the suffering people have been put through. Helping the lost soul find peace, as well as her family, was nice.

I'm not saying I want to see this every year, mind you, but the Quest served not only to show how things once were, but also, how far we've come from the times when things like that were more common and even accepted to a degree.

That said I'm hoping the next Little Ladies Day takes place in Doma or Kugane, and is much more impressive in scope and activities.

This would only ever happen, if SE changes the mindset from OMG AN EVENT NEEDS TO ATTRACT NEWBIES SO IT HAS TO BE LVL 1.

To, omg I need to actually keep our current subbing base...

There has been no events in Ishgard so far either, and it's honestly so sad.

Having seasonal events located in areas that anyone has access to from the start is necessary if you don't want to exclude players. Telling someone who started when the event came out that they can't participate in a level 15 event quest because they haven't gotten through the level 50+ quests is a jerk move. There are no pre-requisites other than having a character at class at 15 and access to Gridania, Limsa Lominsa, and Ul'dah for precisely that reason. The events themselves and the rewards are meant for every kind of player, not just vets or people who have DoW/DoM jobs at 50+.

As much as I'd like reasons to revisit Ishgard and Kugane, it won't happen because of the inclusive nature of the events. We can only hope that SE has us go back to them for story and side-quests.

You know, I'd completely forgotten about that. I suppose the only potential resolution would be to make Kugane available from level 1 through a ferry kind of NPC... I mean, level 1 characters can already go to Shirogane, the housing district. Would it be so difficult to open Kugane as well, I wonder?

[Edit]: Alternatively, instead of focusing events in single locations, make them available in multiple. Next Little Ladies Day could, just as a thought, have the same Quests/Fates/Rewards available in Ul'dah as in Kugane. Same activities. Different NPCs and atmospheres. Could do the same thing for Valentione's Day events. Put NPCs in Ishgard as well as Gridania.

    Ahem.

That's why the secondary quest was such a treat. We need more of that
    Iunno,

"It was a ghoooost! Also she was sold into sex slavery and died." Is hardly a treat tbh.

I'm surprised people thought it dark. To me it screamed "visual novel cliche." Just strap a backpack with wings on her, say "Uguu!" and we'd be set.

That's pretty much what these idol stories have been- bargain-bin VN and mobile game fluff. Not every event needs to have DEEPEST LORE but seriously, I think we can do better than Cheap Waifu Simulation #4823. The only things the event was missing were a money-sucking gacha and thousands of dollars worth of merch to buy.

The Lonesome Lass story felt tacked on and strange after pretending to be an idol otaku, but at least it gave some insight into Ul'dah and the history of the event itself. I'd rather have more stories like that in the future.

"But we got to save this child's soul and help her live out her final dream of feeling like a proper princess and gave her and her family proper closure."

Also above notes. The other event was terrible, the Lonesome Lass was trite, but was actually on subject, had a touch of history, which is what the first two year's were all about.

The ingame history of Little Ladies Day is that the overly protected Princess Edvya Thorne snuck off and enjoyed a day on the town, eventually meeting her love and allowing her doting Father to realize she was maturing. The first year was us learning this through reanacting it with the Edvya minion, and the second year was a Father Daughter pair that were parallels to the original pair and taught us the story of the Senechals.

Why did stereotype popstars happen instead of familial love and innocence?

They could always do what they do in WoW with The Elite Tauren Chieftains.
Have them show up in the Golden Saucer and perform a song once every three hours or so.

It lets people have their Songbirds, but also opens up new stories for the holiday.
