What is this new anti dps healer attitude?

its more the tank ... being a healer / tank main myself it find it frustrating that all the healers that are DPSing leave my hp at less that 30% (almost anything can 1hit me)

It happens in dungeons, because not all healers are good enough, but in raids and trials they are welcome to dps more than healing only.

I dont like it either if as a tank i see healing spell casted once in a while, but i also have seen phenomenal healers that was keeping me 70%+ hp and was dealing damage at the same time.
Each players needs a practice, it takes some time before they learn how to balance the things out to keep a tank alive and dps at the same time, its fine because the healers playstyle is more involving and more interesting to play than healing only thing, which a lot of people dont find attractive enough to play.
FFXIV found a good way of encouraging people to play other than dps classes, a healers expected of dpsing makes this class more interesting to play than healing bot.

i think its more healers seem to think its ok to leave your hp at 20% as they start to dps

well are you leaving the tank at less than 40% hp when u start dpsing? maybe you koticed the tank slowing his pulls down if you do... if so that meand the tank dont trust you because your leaving his hp stupid low and he can die from any medium powered hit

Any healer who ignores healing the tank while DPSing is, generally, a bad healer. There are some situations where a healer can push more DPS and let the tank drop lower (Benediction is up, boss is almost dead, etc.) but a healer's job is to keep the team alive.

That all aside I see this argument a lot. Letting you drop low does not mean the healer is ignoring your health. I let tanks drop low all the time because I know I can save them. Sometimes I screw up, everyone makes mistakes, but far more often than not I am able to squeeze out extra DPS and keep the tank from dying. Even if you are sitting at 30% of your maximum HP for a bit you're still alive, so I don't see the use in complaining.

Basically, if no one is dying and they are complaining about healer DPS, ignore them, for they are stupid and not worth listening to.

At the top left of a post, above the poster's info, is the date and time that a post was made.
For example, the post above mine says "Today 04:12 PM".
It is probably best practice to check the date of a post that you are replying to so you don't end up responding directly to a post that was made the previous year.

With all your complaining about healers not healing you the way you want perhaps when you aren't in a premade you should just heal?

You aren't going to be constantly topped off in DF most of the time, it just isn't accepted as good play. Hell, objectively it isn't good play. Whether you have 70k health or 100 health you can still do your job. Trusting your health to your healer is just part of doing group content.

no it dont because what happens when the whm rakes agro and dies because the drk has no mana cus he was spamming unleash or abyssal drain.

I believe you are a just starting to play DRK.
Its hard to keep yourself alive and keep MP high enough to make the job working below lvl 70, however once you get to lvl 70 and you start doing 70 lvl duties you will be able to hold so much and keep yourself alive as well as doing a lot of aoe dmg a healer that does dps would no longer be a problem.
Healers letting you die just happens for some reasons, same as a tank forgetting to aggro certain mobs that kills dps and healer, its just a individual player skill factor. Some guys just forget they are playing sub 70 lvl content and DRK there is a disaster that cannot live long enough without constant healing in dungeons. Classes like PLD and Warrior could do it, but sub 70 lvl DRK is just bad some healers forget about it, this happens, not everyone is obligated to know other jobs powers.

As a healer you have to constantly adjust your playstyle towards a tank you are playing with, with current state of balance in which DRK below lvl 70 is soft and first to die and PLD is a emperor of the dungeons, its hard for some of them to adjust their playstyle towards DRK, especially if they dont play often with DRK because they are least played tank in the game.

I have never had anyone complain about me doing damage as a Healer in any game. I have met plenty of healers who don't do damage and just stand around waiting to cast cure. Considering what I see posted on the forums and what I see from pug group sometimes, I just chalk it up to people who don't really understand the concept of challenging themselves and helping a group with everything they can accomplish with what their class has available to them. And if they do understand it they are just being lazy.

My thought process on tanking is as follows:

Keep me alive, and I don't care what else you do.

Soon as I am dead and I've used my CDs to do so (And I am not one of those tanks that switch to Sword Oath mid battle because I understand that right now, gear impacts how squishy I am and I'm not in the mood to give my healers a heart attack), I will give it another go without much of a word. But if I die another time and my CDs are used, I will voice that I would suggest that the dps of the healer should be reduced so I don't die.

Don't get me killed. Otherwise I can't do my job for you. >.> Bout all I ask.

5 dungeons so far and 4 of them the healer was just dpsing leaving our health at like 20% before he start healing...so yeah now some healers think they are DPS...thanks to you and many other people.

My attention is pretty much all on healing. Not sure if anyone else noticed though.
Those AoE hits are like 70% of your health. I like that I don't NEED to DPS.

and this is a true healer that knows that shit kills ppl with less than 50% hp
