The only thing I don't like about this is the kick right before a boss. If you got a problem gameplay-wise with a player in which you know you're going to kick, do it asap. Don't wait right before the last boss. It just makes it look like you're enacting vengeance and it pretty much sinks yourself to the other person's level.

Now aside from that, deciding to ignore not only the rest of your skill set but other people telling you to use them because its more effective just means you would prefer being a detriment to your party members because it suits you. At the very least, take step back, be objective about the situation and come to the realization that maybe, just maybe there are better ways to hold aggro and maybe they're right.
