Not sure if you meant this at my comment, but Faerie isn't one of the high-population servers. Based on the censuses we tend to be about average population compared to the other North American servers. Just a problem with a couple players controlling too much of the market.Overpopulated servers will continue to be targeted by house flippers because they know the population is too stubborn to migrate elsewhere. This is major incentive to carry on with circumventing the new controls put in place to turn a profit later. If people actually spread out more, it would likely diminish the levels of house hording/flipping and also equalize general availability of housing.
I dont feel sigma savage should be so hard and instead doable with 2 people. Speaking of feelings... a.k.a. entitlement.
Agree with the rules, but things will set at the right place, just give a time. Of course this isnt valid for Balmung - there is too many players. Players who own more than 1 house will at one point stop to play, flippers will sell all what they have... and so on. Just give time a chance to set everything right.
Nope, you are renting things from SE, you dont own anything, everything is SE property (even your character) and they only promise you to have equal chance as everyone else inside your environment (e.g. server).

No because this game is already half pay-to-win with retainers and we dont need more of this crap while paying monthly subscription. Honestly FFXIV is first online game i played in my life (and i played a lot of them) that have monthly subscription and pay-to-win option.
As someone who is in graphic design/DTP for 22 years and web design/SysAdmin for the last 7 years let me tell you something... Today the hardware is cheap, and when i say cheap i really mean cheap. If this is from my perspective can you imagine the price for the hardware what companies like SE will get? For them the prices are even cheaper based on the quantity, long term contracts and who knows what other deals they have.

Today if something isnt possible is mostly because of the software limitations and not the cost of the hardware, or have something to do with the company policies e.g. we dont want to spend more than X because all surplus most go to the shareholders.
Hear this example: There is a game EvE online, in some aspect similar to any other MMO as WoW or FF, just placed in space. Because of space there is a chance the game is little less intense on the graphics so lets assume it has 10% less stress for the hardware. Now imagine more than 3.000 players in the same system (e.g zone) fighting each other. Now we speak pushing the hardware limitation but even then they came with a solution - time dilation where everything for everyone slows down by X%. Still there is freaking 3.000+ players in the same zone. Can you imagine the stress for the servers. No, hardware and his cost for sure cant be the reason something isnt available.

Now to the punchline - you are contradicting yourself (i know, you even said that). First you mentioned "equal chance" and then "pay for the house in RL money". Sorry but no way this is "equal" because people with more money can get real ingame advantage over those who cant spend so much money... Same as we already have with retainers. Bad idea, retainers are bad idea... anything what could be defined as pay-to-win on monthly subscription game is bad idea.
P.S. You know what is extremely annoying and easy to fix? This 1.000 character limit per post. Its so freaking annoying.

You can edit the post to add more characters past the 1,000 character limit. Just letting you know for the futureNow to the punchline - you are contradicting yourself (i know, you even said that). Yes they are but if you dont have them its hard to see and i understand that. I should make new topic just to explain how this works, what is the real advantage to have more retainers and all this by not even mentioning the increased space for <stuff>.
I have 8, 5 of which I send out on ventures, two sometimes three I sell items on. But if I only had two, nothing on this game would fundamentally change for me. All it would force me to do was get rid of all this crap I have on them, and only keep the things I really need. I would just have to go out and gather the mats I need when I want to craft as opposed to having them already. But since I would be spending less time doing hunts, beastman quests, and other things to keep up with the venture token demand, I would have more time to do this anyway. Also, as a crafter, even if they couldn't go out on ventures it wouldn't bother me. They bring back crap most of the time anyway. The occasional piece of furniture, or pot of white of black dye is pittance compared to what I make crafting and selling items.
Sorry to confuse, was just a general comment. Not sure if you meant this at my comment, but Faerie isn't one of the high-population servers.
