I wouldn't switch a server for a house, so much as just explaining that their is no issue of housing shortages on many servers.

But the idea that smaller servers=lifeless servers with no community is a baffling conclusion. The actual truth is our economy is slower moving and the lack of housing urgency means no one is bum rushing and snapping them up. There are plenty of players who don't own homes who don't want one, and apartments are pretty popular.

There is zero reason to merge healthy servers together to make them all as horribly bloated as a few are.

Btw - got lots of open plots on my server....maybe its just because people need to consider transferring to less populated servers to have better odds in getting houses? If your so hard pressed to get a house that is.

I mean, what's the point of adding X new instances in the four districts where 75% of the players just want their house in Shirogane ? If they want to add 6 new wards in Shirogane, well then add only 4 to the previous ones and then 9 in Shirogane instead.

Are you sure the number is that high? Shirogane is definitely super popular but the Goblet is the only district that is very noticeably less desirable. At least on Moogle I don't think it's as high as 75%. Maybe 40%. Still very high though, obviously.

I don't think they'll ever add more of one district than the other. I see very little complaints about not getting a house in Shirogane and having to get one elsewhere. Most just seem happy enough to get a house. It really isn't popular enough to cause a huge issue large enough for SE to consider adding extra Shirogane wards.

And curse about spaghetti-code all you like (you're probably not wrong), but I feel that this again is "Do you really want a house... or do you just want your dream house?"
I consider that kinda funny... before 4.2 we had so many people saying "I just want a house at all!" - once 4.2 dropped and they noticed that all the medium and large plots were going and they would be able to buy a small house, but not plot 30/60 in Shirogane they complained about that... I totally understand wanting your dream location (I'm happy enough to get mine - in the Goblet) - I have however little understanding for not seeking out an alternative plot.

I was going to throw out the question of what???! We still have mediums and smalls in some areas. Though they've been slowly filling.

Then I saw your server, you will never have enough housing for your server it seems...

On a whole this was extremely effective this time around for our server. No, it's far from perfect, but alot of FC's and players were able to get houses on our server and its nice to see.

I'm going to nitpick and say that there were still plots available after 24 hours on Excalibur. About 24-48 hours after there were about 30 left in LB, 30 left in the mist, and 180 left in the goblet. It took a little over a week before goblet sold out completely.

That being said going forward, Excalibur is completely out now until new wards are released or people relinquish.
