I disagree with an additional chest and with this. Both would punish static teams for always playing together, and give party finder teams a loot advantage. Savage isn't designed for pugs, so it doesn't make sense to give them a significant reward advantage.I have suggested multiple times that instead of giving more tomestones as a bonus in savage content, that EVERYONE (if there is a new player involved) will get an extra datalog. The extra chest is a little overzealous, but since u need multiple datalogs, it will allow you to then choose what piece u want for given content.
you are 100% right. But what hes trying to say is that instead of new players (read: players that have tried an instance and havent cleared it [which doesnt mean they are incompetent]) being shunned, it would encourage players who have cleared it to allow a non clear player to enter and stick it out with them for that extra loot.
Not sure if this is a troll post or serious.
Right, but lets be honest. If you are in a static and raid on wednesday, thursdays, and saturdays, but on Sunday one of your FC friends wants to do O5s for the first time... why woud you join them outside of shear kindness? Maybe an extra datalog is a bit much... but something more than creation please.
Guess the little story at the begining was to show he's actually a hard-worker, even though sharing it wasn't needed. Just saying "I like to work hard on things" would have sufficed. Although, a hard working person would have found a way to do that content. Like I said in my previous post, create a PF or join one. I'm sure some people are still on the learning train. When you get enough experience, you clear the content and bam! You can join clear parties now. With his background, it shouldn't be an issue, right?![]()
Sounds really good in theory but on the surface it could lock out a lot of players. Just think you have an entire team of 7 that have cleared a Raid but they want more Datalogs, so they put up a PF asking for 1 person only who hasn't cleared just so they can get the extra log. Ok sounds great for that 1 person, they get a clear and two Datalogs, but then there could be dozens more players all trying to get in to parties but being limited potentially by groups only accepting one newbie just for the bonus. The less new players there in a single group, generally the smoother the duty would go, and easier the carry. Definitely would increase the number of Selling Ex/Savage content advertisements in the PF....
Don't assume every player is selfish enough to not ever help anyone unless they can get loot. Some of us are kind enough to help because the player is a friend, and some enjoy combat enough to do the fight for the joy of it. I know people who do savage on free nights to learn how to play other classes better. Plenty of players do more savage content than they need to for reasons outside of personal loot.Right, but lets be honest. If you are in a static and raid on wednesday, thursdays, and saturdays, but on Sunday one of your FC friends wants to do O5s for the first time... why woud you join them outside of shear kindness? Maybe an extra datalog is a bit much... but something more than creation please.
????
Growing up on a farm equates to gaming how?
One thing you need to understand is that while Savage can be pugged, and the tools exist in the game to allow you to do that, it's not really designed for it. Savage is content designed for statics and their level of coordination. As such separating people who just want to get their weekly clear from people trying to learn the fight becomes important. The content would just collapse otherwise and pugging it would be even harder.
The best way in my experience to get that elusive first time clear is to stop worrying about chests until after you've cleared it. State this in your PFs and not only will you get help from people who know the fight already, but you also weed out a lot of bads looking for a two chest carry.
