First successful housing patch??

None that I ever played. This was a first after playing numerous MMOs. "Oh, you can't get one because there are none left within gameplay." lmao. The poster above described Balmung people clicking for hours trying to get a plot off timer makes me ill. No excuse for that BS in an MMO. This game is marketed as having housing as part of the available experience. If it's not available, it's fraud.

I had two FC mates go through that exact process. One was able to get a house. The other gave up after a few hours and hasn't actually logged in since then

I find the Scarab Lord title from WoW to not be equivalent. Scarab Lord and the Black Qiraji mount are just vanity pieces. Housing in this game is actual content. Nothing prevents me at any point from trying to get the achievements from raiding or PVP. It's always available for me to try. But there are a lot of people that have the gil for a house, there just simply isn't one for them to buy.

Agreed and absolutely housing is content. In fact, Little Ladies Day is March 1 with yet another "housing" deco as a reward. No house?, tough poop, you are sol. I don't think so...You know, when I was working to get all the ponies for my "Tamer of Steeds" title if at the end the game told me I could not acquire Kirin because there were none left right now and I would have to click an object for hours and maybe I would get him and maybe not, I would of been out of game and on to another asap. Both contents are equally important to some players, I am one of them and I don't like fraudulent claims.

They're hundreds of houses available. They're probably more worlds with housing available than those without. People are choosing to give up one thing in the game to keep playing on their current server. But if they wanted to have a house on their account today they could have one.

Changing servers, while logical, isn't quite as simple as you make it sound. Some people have put down roots, such as making friends and joining a good FC or static. Unless they're on a high pop server, chances are they'll luck into a house eventually if they keep an eye out. If not...hopefully more wards will keep being added fairly regularly.

Only because after a huge amount of time and rage SE finally went and introduced a huge amount of houses that would still not be enough if each player wants one. All the time before this patch there was never enough housing for those that wanted it and yet they still made housing as part of the advertisement..Shirogane especially was quite a big part in marketing and yet its release was probably followed by worst rage of the player base. So they might be available now (and reach another limit if more people are playing or at the level to purchase a house) but before that they advertised something that barely anyone could truly get.

(And putting a big amount of event items as housing items in a game with limited housing is bad imo)
