What are the highest rated/desired plot locations?

Definitely agree with the pervasive opinion that 20/50 in The Goblet is prime real estate. Beautiful waterfall right off the side, pool bar right out the front door, it's a wonderful location.

Other than that, I really like the small plot 27/57 in Shirogane. Straight shot to the housing markets, right beside a Market Board, and one of the isolated hot springs is just a short walk up some stairs. Most importantly though, there's a lovely little waterfall right behind it! Was super happy that I was able to snag one during the initial Shirogane housing rush.

Totally agree! Goblet plot 20 is by far one of the top small plots in game. As far as Shirogane goes , #27 was right at top of my list for smalls during the initial 4.1 rush. I love the privacy of #27, as well as that waterfall view, with the extra land is prime real estate.

Personally for me Goblet 13/43 is the best position between any residential districts - great view on the waterfall and Goblet in general (especially during the night), no noisy neighbors, no other houses close to disturb (especially garden), MB, TP and the apartment building is close and that means the vendors from the lobby... Plus its easy to "wall out" as only one side is actually facing the road. I liked it so much i moved my FC house on the same location (my personal was already there) even on my server there was other large plots available.

I love my Shirogane 43 (13) Medium. Right next to a market board and river + waterfall. Not too much extra land on the same level but got a nice bamboo patch behind it, as well as a little hill with a rock and tree on the other side from the river (and got a well on the land too just outside the wall). Great view from the front. Might have a house in front of the gate but the garden spreads both sides of the house to see nice views past it. Easy access to the roof from behind for an even better view. A lot of houses sharing the same market board as well so nice for interaction and it's right next to the centre area and markets.

I see a lot of people liking plot 8 for the beach access and the 'hidden' area.. I was considering that at first, but the view from the garden is a wall, that's all you get there. Really turned off by that bit of it.

I know they aren't considered premium lots but I like 43 and 50 in LB (both are small plots). Both can see a small waterfall off the back and have a good panoramic view of the beach and larger falls to the North and South. I also like their proximity to the MB and with 43 a fairly private entrance away from the main path. An added plus is they don't cost that much to buy so there is extra gil to buy furnishings.

As I mostly have experience with the Goblet, I adore plot 13/43 (mansion overlooking the Brimming Heart) and 15/45 (the small right above the fountain).

I second goblet 13/43, thats one of the best larges in game. Plot 15 is also very nice. It's so secluded on it's own little island (sort of).

Just like in real life! Some people prefer being away from busy areas and some love to live in the middle of it. It's good that there's different lots that appeal to different people.

Ahh true, I guess. IRL I'd also love to live away from people. But in game I need to show off my decorations

I'm surprised remote plots are so popular. Sure, it's pretty, but too boring without any people around imo. I went for lavender beds 5 (M) just to have neighbors.

I'm gonna have to quote this for truth. I'm surprised at the amount of people that value privacy over almost anything else. Granted, I'm not judging anyone here, it's all a matter of preference, but for example, I'm in a ward where I seem to have all the privacy in the world because there's barely anyone around (seems like a ghost town at times), and it's really not cool when you have almost nobody to interact with or greet in the mornings. To me, part of the appeal of belonging to these neighbourhoods is the social interaction with their people, makes the whole thing more lively and interesting. If privacy was what made a plot more desirable, instanced housing would've been the true solution to housing, yet as far as I know, most people do not want that.

It's not so much privacy, it's just that the amount of ridiculously gaudy houses around that kill beautiful views that leads me to desire private spots. I had a nice mist med with a great view that was destroyed by a neighbor in front who out up a tall bright Carby house blocking my view. Then a chocobo house next door. And then two moogle houses on other side. I had to move.
