Because with dungeons you're likely going to get a different group every single time you head in and won't have to deal with jerks repeatedly. Kick abuse doesn't have anything to do with chat and the specific reason for it is usually based on assumption.

Whether or not I thought it was justified is completely beside the point. I actually think potd is the worst when it comes to rude and hateful people if you care to know. But, SE was the one who decided to act on pvp based on their intimate knowledge of what was reported. There would have had to of been a legitimate problem of a decent scale for that call to have been made which was all that I tried to point out. The reaction to that change could also be a factor in SE's inaction with botting, but that's only conjecture.

    1. If their "intimate knowledge of what was reported" is so valid, then why has half a year of reports and complaints about botting and exploiting gone unanswered. Surely that many people couldn't just be making this up, right?
    2. Before you fully commit yourself to the idea that their "intimate knowledge" is such a good source to act on, read this: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...n-in-The-Feast
In particular, read maybe the first few pages, then jump to page 40. Look at the time difference. Look at the first rep response there. Then read the rest. Take note of just how many things players said that proved to be more true, or show better/deeper understanding of the issue. Read that, then ask yourself if what they supposedly know is so much more weighted than what players actually experienced.
