Lol. I do the same thing some games, but I'll still take the mech if no one in my party does. I don't hate mechs or the middle, but sometimes I do like to simply push the lane on foot.
That's been bugging me too.
It's clear they noticed it if they moved it. You'd think perhaps they might actually acknowledge the legitimate player concern here for once.
Are we go another 6 months before a rep at least gives a canned response that says all of nothing and faux-cheerfully encourages more feedback?
Yes and I agree these people need to be stomped out, I don't see why punishing everyone who steps into the feast is fair. SE is so light-handed with everything and yet when they do decide to crack down on something, we all get punished along with the people who can't play with dignity or handle their emotions.
In the matter of Rival Wings, I don't think bots are causing queue to be never ending in RW. They are annoying but they are in Frontlines as well and people still play that. People grew tired of healer camping the generator awful quick and would rather just run a quick Shatter for wolf marks.
Talked to a player on another server he qued for PVP rival wings yesterday let it run all day 16 hours never once it came up to enter. The bot mods must be hacking the system in DF so it keeps trying and trying till it gets in. Seriously SE if your not going to fix this I might have to get the same hacks there using just to have a game of what I want. Thats where we are now. If you cannot beat them join them I guess. The GM's in FFXI was way better then any GM I have seen in FFXIV.
This has been repeated many times, but "easy" fix would be remove exp reward from 3rd in frontlines, or make it % based on either personal performance or team performance.
For example: If team is more than 500 pts behind at the end of the match, then no exp for you!
Best would be personal performance similar to FATES. You need at least silver rank to get exp.
And don't report bots unless you're absolutely 110% sure they are bots. It will only make reports less valuable.
At this point, it's not even worth the effort to report bots when they have a track record of not acting on reports even against players who are blatantly hacking.
Their whole "No outside evidence" policy is also a load of bull because it basically makes it impossible to get any convincing evidence in the (Likely) case they aren't able to identify the player as a bot themselves.
Overall, their system of enforcement is protecting the cheaters and harming the people who want to be rid of them.

I suggest that GM's be given the ability to ghost (secretly observe PvP matches) to observe a player that is reported to be botting, cheating, or griefing. IMO, this is a better and affordable solution than recording video data via Duty Recorder for PvP.
If it's possible to enable Duty Recorder during PvP matches, I suggest that SE make it mandatory. As such, players should be notified that their matches WILL be recorded on a secure medium (SE's own data storage), and they have to accept the terms that the recordings are the property of Square Enix prior to queuing the PvP mode. As property of Square Enix, the recordings can be used for the purpose of catching botters, cheaters, and griefers. Of course, this may not be cost effective, which is why I like my first suggestion to save Square Enix some money. XD
At least the bots stick together on pvp. Unlike many players. Specially tanks that think that they are ''invencible'' and die for the first two dps that appear and going try to fight alone all the other GC team.
