Glamour Dresser is Awful

WoW is very close.
The only restriction is you need a transmogrifier to apply what you want (though it costs a small fee). If you buy a somewhat expensive mount, you can call a transmogrifier to you anywhere outdoors.

Not really, in SWTOR, it has nothing to do with gear, You can be naked, all your gear can be in the bank, your bags empty, and you still have access to 16 outfits that you have designed from all your pieces of gear. What gear you have equipped plays no part in what you show to the world. The huge advantage to this is, as your getting/updating new gear, you can equip them on the spot and not alter your look, and there no transmog ever needed.

All appearances you have ever come into contact with are saved in a list, you do not need to keep the base items.

While SWTOR saves the shop stuff like this, it doesn't do it for in game drops so WoW is so much better here and plenty were hoping we would get it here.

Yeah, it does get annoying to have to dump 20g+ into transmogging your gear every time you get a new piece, lol.

But I suppose they (the developers) have to fight inflation (that they themselves cause!) somehow, eh?

They add massive gold fountains to the game, but then they nickel-and-dime you over every little thing, like transmog.

My inventory is no longer full. I don’t constantly get the item full message anymore. I appreciate it for what it is even though it could use more space, but honestly that was to be expected. Yoshi P’s team apparently likes to test item slots in increments to keep the servers stable. It’s nothing new. We should keep asking for more space, but also be thankful for the introduction to the long awaited feature we’ve asking for instead of overreacting constantly about it.

Titles like: “Glamour wardrobe is awful”, “glamour wardrobe ruined glamouring.” “I hate the glamour wardrobe”, and etc. just create negativity instead of constructive criticism that the moderators here will listen to. If you want to be seen as presentable just make it more adult like, and use titles like “Glamour Wardrobe Thoughts”, “I like the glamour wardrobe but ___”, and etc. I’m so sick of this community’s constant overreacting, and negativity. Myself included. We’re all guilty of it. Things that get forewarded from the mods are usually well presented, and articulated.

Why can't I retrieve my items back?

Why aren't there enough plates?

Why can't I use plates outside of a stupid inn or at least use it at my house?

Why can't I use event items or other certain items?


Perhaps you could outsource a project to fix the glamouring system to some zoo animals instead, so we can have something better?

The more they hear "server limitations aren't a viable excuse", the better off we'll be.

I'm sure there's no one that would rather be rid of the limitations they face than they are, as they're the ones who have to constantly "waste their time" trying to work around it. It's not because they particularly like programming workarounds or they lack some sort of "courage" to address the deeper issue. It's because that stuff is so pervasive and baked-in that it's near impossible to swap out while the machine remains in motion, since it has massive cascading consequences. Completely rewriting the primary netcode and data storage architecture is almost like starting the game over (again).

As I've said in many other threads, this is a version 1 of the system (or think of it as a beta if you like). The answer to pretty much all of your questions is "not implemented yet". Better that we get something now that can be expanded upon and (useful) feedback given about than we get nothing at all until we find that they've gone far down a path that doesn't work out.

This shit matters. It's occupying resources that would be better devoted to content generation, and it's limiting the content and systems they're able to build. The more they hear "server limitations aren't a viable excuse", the better off we'll be.

Yeah technical debt is awful, but realistically there's not going to be any change here. As much as it's bleeding resources working around this infrastructure, how much development resources do you think it would take to restructure the game at its most basic level, especially while it's still running? SE evaluated that with FFXIV 1.x before, and the result was ARR instead. If I were SE and contemplating spending that much development time, I'd say just spend it making Final Fantasy 17 as another MMO.

Let "search for item" and "/itemsearch" access the dresser, and let us have a second filter to filter dresser pieces by job/class/gender, as well as the eventual/gradual increase in "storage," and the dresser will be less awful.

Oh, and give us the option to apply a select portion of a plate, depending on which parts of the plate the player would like to apply, as oppose to stamping the entire thing.

*shrug* I like the glamour dresser. I think it could use improvements but overall I like it.

They'll probably add more plates if people ask (though honestly, you couldn't find a nicer way of providing criticism?) and they already mentioned that they wanted to look into expanding where it would be used. It's pretty obvious they essentially released it early as a way to test it with real players.

Armoire items can be used at no cost to you (no glamour prisms). There are some items that can't be added to the dresser or armoire - file a bug report like you're supposed to.

The game warns you you can't take them out and honestly this is meant for glamour - for things you really don't ever need to be really wearing.
Some people even go as far as saying they'd never put mogstation items because they're destroyed - but they'll still be in your dresser to glamour from. Just don't ever destroy it from your dresser.

The way I see it's 200 inventory slots saved, and whatever doesn't fit can still be applied the old way. After all, the glamour system itself still hasn't changed (it ends up exactly the same way in the end) and both dresser+plates and the manual casting can be used together.
