Why do you lock up your houses?

If someone copied my house I'd be happy about it, because someone liked it so much, they had to have one for themselves ^_^.

To copy some stuff/get inspired is one thing, to me at least, I'm not saying I never looked up nice looking combinations and what not ^^
In this case i simply don't get the point, you have the opportunity to mix and mash something on your own, yet copy paste someone's whole thing :/
Was about to run over to them saying something like "Oh hey, housey never did that before, sorry about that, you might perhaps got a spare house leash so I can walk it back to my plot?" buut seemingly I didn't cared enough xD

Mine was locked because that was the default. Lol. Once I found out how to unlock it, I did. What's the point in decorating if you can't show it off, even with a tiny cottage like mine. I invite my FC members to check it out whenever.

Though, it would probably be awkward to come home and find someone dozing in my bed. I should do that to someone sometime.

Because i respect my own privacy too much. As someone mentioned, i would also lock my courtyard if i could. Seeing someone standing with their dirty feet in my room, or running around aimlessly as i enter the house after a hard day of farming is just more than i can bare.

I never lock my house or rooms. I got nothing to hide (except my secret room).

There just 2 reasons why people lock their houses:

1. Interior under construction
2. No furnishing inside, because you are a house seller and dont want to show your empty house to other people

Yeah since clearly it is wrong to simply not want people walking around in your house.

It's because people tend to not understand others, which is the whole point of this thread.

What the OP does NOT understand, is WHY.

People generally have their houses locked because they are not done furnishing them. Then you have a few people who just probably don't care and leave it locked by default.
Then you have another bunch of people who legit don't want others to enter their home for whatever reasons (erp, etc.), respectable.

And then you have a certain individual with anger issues that think that people that interact with each other in a mmo with some little harmless roleplay have mental problems and should seek professional help.
