Thank you for confirming. I just wanted to make sure you weren't one of those "threat said so" people. I had checked your logs to see if there was merit to your statement prior to me asking, but you hid them so I didn't have much recourse, but to ask. For reference had I seen anything > 40th percentile on your logs I'd have given you the benefit of the doubt. I mean hell, if I could get 40th percentile players in my DF runs i'd be freaking thrilled.

Uploading seemed too much of a hassle for something I do just for my own personal improvement but I did see I had been caught in some people's raid parses back in HW. Felt a lil odd being on there without permission. Honestly though I can't blame the drg too much because I'm sure it's a learned habit in DF if you pair up with ranged or caster since people don't really communicate, just a bit annoying when you're always in melee range

Just got through unlocking the CT raids on my alt yesterday and have a couple of stories:

#1: LotA: Mostly a good run up until the last boss where I died twice for being too greedy right before ancient flare. Ironically, I had just mentioned about paying attention in that fight.

#2: WoD: Was very smooth except for the eye boss where people didn't run out of a death circle...including all 4 of the other parties' healers. We recovered, but it was close.

Fun times.

In a lvl 35 dungeon this is not uncommon. A lot of times people forget to go back and do the class quests and up until about Aurum Vale, this is not a huge deal. Anything 50+ though is blatant derp.

Were they new? Could have been they were just unaware of jobs being a thing, and no one told them otherwise. I’ve seen several new players that have zero idea classes turn into jobs at 30. Even though the game tells you they do but, you know. First time playing and paying attention to everything new and shiny.

He was a sprout, so that makes sense. Although, since he was ignoring chat almost entirely, people could have been trying to tell him unsuccessfully.

It's time for AxHell and his adventures as PLD in Aurum Vale yay ! *cricket sounds*

After screaming internally, I somehow make my way easily through the 1st room, when a DPS tells me the healer can't heal me.
I stop everything to ask and see what's wrong and indeed, the WHM was healing for around 200. At first I was puzzled because the WHM had max lvl for this dungeon...but then I checked her gear and oh boy she was overly undergeared (lvl 1 accessories, lvl 25 body part etc..).
I tell them this is probably the reason why and tell them it's better to quit the dungeon and buy better gear, else everyone would have a very bad time.
They quickly aggreed on this and thanked me for understanding the problem.

Poor WHM at first didn't realize the problem, they were apparently in group and rushing through the dungeons.

That said she was doing a good job and I hope she gets better. Wish I could have offered my help before they left.

This morning I did Alliance Roulette, and got void ark on my Alt Ahna~ It wasn't a out of ordinary run, smooth, quick easy, but I remembered the tank, a little lala in the new sweater item and some jeans. I thought they were the cutest thing ever.

The shockwave stomp during the second boss was going off, and I didn't see the tank running over with us, and so I ran over and used Rescue on him. Then exclaimed in chat. "I've always wanted to do that." I don't usually bring it on any of my healers, so I never use it.

No one replied and the rest of Void Ark went without a hitch.

Fast Forward to now, I'm doing my weekly Sigma normal runs on my main Thyn'a, and our main tank is again, this Lalafell.

Someone said "Nice heals" after the fight, but let me tell you, The lala was a GREAT tank. He was DRK, and made healing himself very easy, and repositioned the boss perfectly.

I wasn't sure if he remembered me but I spoke up anyways. "Lol DRK, I believe you tanked Void Ark for me this morning"

He stared up to me with that cute face. "Oh was that you?"

"XD I was healing on an alt, big red roe." I say, to describe Ahna.

I smiled so hard when he replied "Oh yeah. Nice rescue btw."

That just about made my day.

I was one of those new players doing Brayflox without a soulstone equipped. At that point in the game, I was still on the free trial, and didn't want to start up a new story quest when I was probably going to have to wait a few weeks before I could get the full game installed and downloaded.

How much difference does it actually make for a DPS player at that point?

It's never really been uncommon to see a character without a job stone in Bray. Of course that was like the first tough leveling dungeon you encountered, so any extra padding helps.

It's not non-zero, since Jobs get a higher main stat bonus than Classes do, but I'm not sure how much it would be at Brayflox. If you're otherwise playing well, probably not that much, but you don't want to go beyond Brayflox or Qarn without your soulstone equipped anymore.

Speaking of which I just had a run of Bray nm where one DPS was a level 49 Archer who claimed, after they died to the second boss, that they DID have the soulstone but didn't try equipping it until after they queued. The other DPS and I (on Whm) tried telling them--despite calling us "nig" and all around having the worst spelling and grammar I've seen in a ridiculously long time--that having the Soulstone on at all times would help, and they'll want to equip it as soon as possible.

The tank, however, was a lv 40-something Pld, with lv 25 gear. I politely, at first, reminded them to put on Shield Oath. Then brought up SO again during the first pull (as they were pulling more and proving to be rather squishy. Then they proceeded to ask if there was any way to mute me. "Yeah, kicking me tends to shut me up."

They didn't kick. They just went on talking like idiots, even constantly shouting in party chat about Denver Broncos and Colorado (mispelled on both), aiming the first boss at me and the good DPS, and pulling more mobs than the tank could handle. The tank didn't even roll on the pair of tank gloves that dropped. So the good DPS and I dropped that tank, the Archer died to the second boss not realizing what happened to their friend, and the bad DPS proceeded to argue with us, and asking for a rez when getting up at the starting point would have been better.

Dude. I know that the dungeons up to that point don't exactly call for more brain cells than it takes to move, but that Bray NM run was headache inducing from the stupid I had to deal with. :-/

Oh, but my friend (the better DPS) and I were the toxic assholes for trying and failing to help the idiot Archer understand the need for Soulstones. Good grief.
